Sunroof - garage - 05-19-2010

So whats the deal with switching from electric to manual sunroofs?
I found a perfectly operating manual sunroof on a 300D wagon today, and would love to intall it on my 240D.

Has anyone done it?
Does anyone know whats involved?
Is it fairly straightforward?

Its pretty easy, but its destructive and irreversible.

Get all the mechanism parts from the wagon.
On your car; Remove the motor and pull out the cable, break off the cable tube from inside the body, pull off the liner (friction clips), remove the sunroof, swap the hardware (or just use the entire panel if the wagon has the same body color as yours), install new ramps, put the assembly in the car and enjoy!

Forced did it in his 240d he modified the tracks as I remember?

Thanks guys!
Forced, was there any odd tools you had to use?

I did it to my 300D. Riveting the tracks to the body was the only really difficult part, the rest was pretty much bolt-in.
