Timing Question - ID240D - 01-25-2011

Hi all tried the search but couldn't find what I was after. I recently sold my 1998 Dodge 12 Valve that I had for four years and in May I dynoed 756hp with it. I know that everytime I made upgrades I bumped the timing and in the end it was at 25* and I believe stock it was 12*. So I am wondering if you can bump the timing on the 617 engine to increase horsepower or does it not act the same way as the 12 valve cummins? Any information on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

You can go a couple degrees depending on fuel and boost but only a couple...

It certainly helps with different fuels, like WVO.

Thanks for the replies...what is the highest you can go without hurting anything?

Thanks,

Not sure! The only thing I remember hearing about going to high is a hard start/unburnt fuel
