Is 300ft lbs possible out of a 617.952? - turboxr - 10-27-2011

I've been perusing the forum and searching for different people's builds. A lot of good info!

I'm debating on installing a 617 in my Jeep Comanche but need to pull my Merkur XR4Ti on a trailer and be able to haul a bunch of heavy crap occasionally. Getting 20+mpg makes me happy but sacrificing the utility of the truck is not what I want. My goal would be to equal the performance of the 5.2 Magnum which is sitting in my shop which I was going to swap into the Comanche. That is rated at 220hp/285ft lbs. Is it possible to get close to that number and still be reliable and get good MPG? In other words, can I have my cake and eat it too? I've read about the MYNA pump but it seems very expensive. Are there good no cost upgrades such as removing the ALDA, etc that will gain close to that? Thanks guys! Big Grin

Removing the ALDA wont add any power but it keeps it form limiting the power it already has

To get around 300lbs you will need a bigger turbo and a custom injection pump and you will have to monitor EGT's to make sure its not getting to hot

The stock injection pump maxed out! is limited to about 140hp and 200lbs TQ stock is 120hp and 180lbs TQ
