feed pump question - w210tdt - 04-01-2012

hello guys,i have a std project going on an i have a little quesiton for u.im planning to swap a modified 606.962 in my e230 petrol car.so i wondered if i could use the fuel pump whose already in my petrol car and regulate down the pressure and use it as a feed pump for my dieselmeken pump?

RE: feed pump question - aaa - 04-01-2012

The mb gasser pumps can't keep up. And the diesel injection pump itself can pull fuel by itself just fine.

RE: feed pump question - w210tdt - 04-01-2012

ok,thanx!the feed pump on the ip will do the job then, also on high performance engines.

NOT on big elements like 7.5mm! My pump ran out on diesel at around 3000rpm with 7.5mm elements, and stock ip feedpump! So i used a gasser pump (from a volvo 740turbo), and regulated it to 3 bars feeding pressureWink

Version 1 works great! 140cc gives plenty of fuel to a tire burning MB Big Grin

RE: feed pump question - jeemu - 04-03-2012

When you got IP that can make over 150cc and you car can burn all that you notice broplems, but if you not notice any, then you got to do some tune your car Big Grin

Good and cheap trancfer pump is Holley HP150, thar regulator what come belong, just throw away.

What Pressure is good from the transfer pump? I read that 22-25psi would be fine? Jeemu how much do you have?
