lucky save! My neighbor worked at an RTD bus shop that worked on 8v93 Detroit 2 stroke v8's supercharged and turbo. They had an alarm they would hit if this happened and it meant duck and cover it was going to blow he said 20,000rpm was possible before they grenade sending rods & pistons flying through the air.

There are two thing's that can cause this. A stuck pump rack in the injection pump or leaky oil seal on the intake manifold causing the engine to run off of it own motor oil.

Dude looks like he just used a cloth to stop the air supply. Not a good choice, that turbo could of sucked in the cloth and his hand.

These wont run to 20,000 BTW, it might sound like it because of 2 stroke noise but 5000 RPM is max. it looks like he has modified his fuel pump (no governor... duh!!) and his mods worked,he got piles of fuel
