ASD differentials - Eric78 - 02-17-2013

How much power & torque can a w124 ASD differential take reliably?

I'm looking for something that can take abuse & has some form of limited slip, I've also been looking at Nissan r200 Torsen diffs but the ratios are way out, the are all high 3s to mid 4s.

It's to go in a w201 which I'm planning to put an OM605 in.

Anyone?

this is a 188mm diff, and can handle much power! the driveshaft is the weak link! 25mm snap for nothing if you drive manual gearboxWink 32mm from w124++ is much better, but requires shortening to fit in the w201 body...

If by 188mm, you mean 185mm, then that's great news! I was under the impression from a thead in a different forum that they weren't reliable above 250hp. If what you're saying is true, then this saves me a lot of money.

ohh, mix that with the bmw 188mmWink
the next step is the 210mm, but that is so huge that it dont bolt on...
