722.311 on 617? - cho - 03-26-2013

hi guys

I have 722.311 taken from my ex gasser 500sec which is
in very good condition with only 100k miles on it... how about
mounting it on 617 turbo?

has anyone tried similar yet and what is the gain/loss?

my .303 is not in great shape but most of the parts are
interchangable K1,K2,b1 and b2.... but rather taking parts from
.311 I playing with idea to just swap the trannys,I still have the
sec instrument table so it will be no problem.....

311 has a higher shift point so I guess when mated to 617 car would be slower
but with higher top speed. the ratios are also different except the 4th is the same 1;1 ....

.

The bellhousings are different. So seems like you can only swap parts. Perhaps all the parts. Presumably you can fiddle with/swap the governor to control the shift point.
