For all you guys wanting a 6spd manual - jenyus - 05-11-2013

I came across this info when swapping an om617 into my jeep and figured I would tell you guys. Eventually, I would love to do a 617 pumped up to 400hp in a 65 mustang.

Anyways, you can swap in a Toyota supra transmission thats a super bullet proof 6spd rwd manual. What you do is get a jeep ax15 input shaft an bell housing , swap the shaft and bell housing over to the supra transmission, and get the adapter ring from mercedesdiesel4x4.com for $350. This can also be done with jeep ax15 2wd and Toyota r150/151 2wd transmissions. Much easier than sourcing a Benz manual here in the US and it sure would be cool to have a 6 speed.

606s are hard to find in the US, and if you're upgrading parts here and there while driving a 617 is easier. But yes, a 606 will hit 400hp much easier than a 617
