Power questions - K Van Damme - 07-15-2014

Hello everyone i m building a om603.960 with a gerret gt2056v from a mb320cdi how much power can it make
It's a new engine for my '90 G wagon

Thanks

RE: Power questions - F.R.A.S - 07-16-2014

150hp if you're lucky. But all builds in G-wagons are awesome Big Grin

RE: Power questions - K Van Damme - 07-16-2014

Are u sure ? Because it makes almost 270hp on my E320cdi with the same turbo

RE: Power questions - barrote - 07-16-2014

the turbo from 320CDI is a GT2359V, at least in PT models.
would like to know how u will intend to play the VNT mechanism.
Regards

RE: Power questions - K Van Damme - 07-16-2014

Its a E320 V6 from 2008

RE: Power questions - CRD4x4 - 07-16-2014

My 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD 2.8L uses the same GT2056V from factory and only makes 160hp/295ftlb in stock form.
I don't understand how it could make 270hp on a 3.2L.
I've been planning to upgrade to a GT2256V but can't take my daily driver off the road yet.
Have you considered a twin scroll/divided housing to better take advantage of the V6 exhaust gas pulsation?

RE: Power questions - barrote - 07-17-2014

320 CDI with 613.XXX or 648.XXX is a GT2359. Wink

RE: Power questions - F.R.A.S - 07-17-2014

A little help for you is this... A turbo that can do 300hp on a commonrail engine will do around 200hp on a IDI engine. That's the hard truth I'm afraid. A gt20 will do about 250hp commonrail. The gt2556v will bring you just over 200hp on an IDI engine.

IDI = InDirectInjection = Prechamer engine.

RE: Power questions - barrote - 07-18-2014

I very surprised u say that!!! my 605 engine runs a stock gt20 and is close to 200hp never measured it, comparing the pull against my 270cdi i can say that.
the IP i have now is putting in only 55cc max fuel. when i solve that matter i´ll see to where the gt20 will reach. have a gt 2256V, and a GT2359V, one of these will go in.
maybe is a barrier of 200 something HP to cross with 5 cyl IDI engines.
regards

But it smokes as hell already right? So even with more fuel you will not have any more power. Just more smoke... And yea, I know I'm a bit low on the numbers but that's because I'm always thinking wheel HP Big Grin

RE: Power questions - K Van Damme - 07-20-2014

Thanks for your reply, so 6mm elements Will be enough or should i use 7mm elements to have more torque at low rpm's

RE: Power questions - MFSuper90 - 07-21-2014

The bigger the elements, the better. Quicker duration and pumps will not wear out nearly as quick because they are not being pushed to their limits Smile

Nop , is not smoking yet, and i´m just trying to make it smoke, hardly trying, next week maybe i´ll have it smoking , and when i do i have another funcy stuff to try.
at the moment i´m at 1.2 bar.
numbers, numbers dada ada ...... i´ll tell u nr´s , nrs is watching the táxi drivers with 210 320 cdi up Hill from your 124 rearview mirror, those are nrs Wink

RE: Power questions - K Van Damme - 05-01-2016

Hi everyone yesterday my engine broke down , it was the stock engine with a turbo setup from a 603.960
And a 7,5mm dieselmeken pump
Next engine will be a 606. Could i compound with the stock turbo from a 606 and a holset hx35 ?
Thanks

RE: Power questions - Tito - 05-01-2016

I was thinking of doing the same once, but you definitely need to bypass the (very) small kkk turbo. Of course exhaust but also intake.

RE: Power questions - starynovy - 05-01-2016

Yes its true, I think IDI engines put out more exhaust gasses or something. We used 2260V which generated on DI engine 185kW and could not get above 140kW on IDI.. it literaly choked engine with EMPs, it did not even pull above 3800RPM.
