RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - hents99 - 05-12-2015

(05-12-2015, 05:41 AM)MrHope biggest problem is that the w460 g-wagen biggest engine is the 300D 88hp and 280E with 154hp and mercedes dont allow any bigger engine than that.

or you can increse tq with 10% and hp with 20% from the cars original engine.

if you register the car as Modified you can get more hp and unlimited tq , as thay just have a limit hp/kg and in that case the gwagen has no problem as its quite heavy! but to do that you have to change the braking system to. and bolt on stuff is not allowed, must be custom made, even if it means put smaller brakes on its ok!! really stupid rule that only proves that someone behind a desk just wanted to make a rule!

I had W460 with M117 5.0 V8 installed and tried to make it legal.....impossible....

A friend of mine (Robert) has R107 SLC with M117 5.6 twin turbo in Sweden and it`s legal....dyno result without boost Smile Turbos pushed charge air to atmosphere Smile

(12-31-2014, 01:15 PM)MrHope Santa came by!

It´s a Holset HX35 specialbulit with a smaller garrett turbine.
And pretreaded 1/8" hole for tempsensor.

But i will start with the original turbo and when its registered with the engine swap i will start fitting the holset.

The turbo took a small exhaust housing, or also took a smaller garrett turbine?

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-19-2015

Muuris: if i get it it trough inspection with a turbo it just says "om605 with turbo" so what turbo i do mount later wouldnt be a problem.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 12-12-2015

Finaly !

Customized gearbox mount!
Customized shift linkages!
fitted the c250 turbo radiator!

Test run! Seems to work wery good! probably little more than 200hk

But i has a high sound when full trottle! (no exhaust system)

So i made a exhaustsystem with 2,5" pipe and one damper, and exhaust output just before the right rear tire.

tested again, and it didnt get so much quieter....? .. maby better airfilter would make it quiet?

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 12-13-2015

Made a 2,5" Exhaust from scrap i had layin around, sounds really nice! (had missed to weld a big gap after the turbo when last testdrive! much more quiet now!)

And looks okay! its stainless pipe 3"

Made the gearbox mount spacer/adapter , the new gearbox has the mount off center.

Installation almost looks like original, besides missing the fan scroud.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 12-29-2015

Did pass the registration today!

The car is now legal with the om605 turbo, 150hp and 280nm! (Mine maby has a few more horses)  Angel

Standard om617 300 had 88hp/172nm Wink

Did even get it registrated with the rear seat so now ok with driver and 4 passengers!

And the new oris tow hitch registrated with 3000kg towing capacity!

Big Grin

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-03-2016

Car runs great and feels wery light! (it dindnt feel light before i can promise u that!)

But i felt the stock turbo was to small (constantly 0,4 bar when driving, and high egt when pulling a trailer or uphill)

i did have another turbo that i was going to try!

Someone else here built a c-class with this kind of adapter so i gave it i try! triangular to T3 adapter and lifted it up so i would clear the shockmount.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-03-2016

And the turbo is fitted!

Its a T3 turbo from china, i has A/R 0.63 exhaust and A/R 0.50 Compressor

had to make a new
Oil feed line
Return line
New downpipe 2,5"
Boost pipe to intake 2,5"

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-03-2016

Painted the boost pipe black!

and fitted a cheap air filter that i had from another car... would like a better filter later on.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-03-2016

Its fires up nicely!

But i feel the boost comes to slow.... and maximum boost is 1,5bar.... i would want to reach minimum 2bars...  Dodgy

A post from the past

(10-03-2016, 02:14 AM)MrHope Its a T3 turbo from china, i has A/R 0.63 exhaust and A/R 0.50 Compressor

You get what you pay for. Even a genuine T3 is 30 years old tech, don't expect it to be quick spooling or to be capable of high pressure ratios. If you plot calculated points to compressor map, I'm quite sure you'll find that your safe max boost is less than 1,5 bars (I'd say close to 1 bar). Besides, with 6mm elements there's no reason for that high boost anyway.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-04-2016

Muuris:

i did some adjusting on the outside alda and now the car smokes a little black at first when full trottle before boost and blacksmoke stops before 1bar. and its not boosting more than 1bar now.

i have only adjusted alda and boost dropped from 1,5bar to 1,0bar.

no blacksmoke at 1.0bar with alda set on full. do you think its using all 95cc of fuel at 1,0bar?

the car is nice to drive and feels light and fast even tho it is 2200kg in actual weight.

i just wish the boost would come faster.

you have sent me PM but i cant answer, its says you have disabled private messages.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - hents99 - 10-21-2016

Are you controlling boost pressure with solenoid valve?
Wastegate must be fully closed before desired boost level.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-21-2016

Hents:

Wastegate is mecanicly locked so its always closed now, boosts 1,3 bar at most.

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - hents99 - 10-21-2016

Ok Big Grin

Edit: We have similar setup.

Nice build!

Hello my last Hope! Smile
I've switched it on. if you have time please reply for that!

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - hents99 - 10-21-2016

Yes. Watercooled intake with Laminova cores.

What kind of transmission do you have? Automatic?

Could you take some pics of the throttle cable solution of yours?

RE: G-wagen , om605 , 6mm , holset - MrHope - 10-23-2016

Addi: look at the pics in my first page, its all wire no linkages atall.

(10-23-2016, 05:02 AM)MrHope Addi: look at the pics in my first page, its all wire no linkages atall.
How did you keep the connetion between the transmission the throttle pedal and the pump, without using the original linkage?
