OM 606 flexplate converter bolts - zeeman - 09-30-2015

When using a secondary flywheel with a spacer on a conversion on a OM606 the converter bolts are not used. The only thing holding the ring gear to the flexplate are three rivets. My question is, is this sufficient to hold the flywheel together when it is just used for the starter drive or does it still need bolts were it was attached to the converter?
