Gearbox info - 190Gilly - 05-23-2016

Looking for some info on my gearbox.

Pulled from an e300 '97/'98. Part numbers are:

R210 271 09 01

Is this in any way a desirable box? I've seen the '722.6' box mentioned a lot, is this similar or am I missing a part number on there somewhere? Or are they completely different?

Either way it will be for sale shortly!

Cheers

Can you see more numbers on the gearbox? It is indeed a "722.6" one, but there are some different types of "722.6"

I've got 32 5234 00 I think, and 1 2828 f7, and r 140 271 26 01. That's all I could see yesterday, will there be a definitive 722.6xx somewhere?

Have a look there, it might help Smile

If it was pulled from a running/driving w210 e300.
Then its a nag small, otherwise it would of had code from 3 incorrect ratio gears.
Larger cdi and v8 cars all have the stronger nag large box.
Nag small is found in older diesels and the petrols smaller than v8.

Theres a small flat area on the LH (looking from the rear) of the box that will have the 722.6XX number stamped into it.
