606 superpump fuel routing - JCGrimes - 05-26-2017

Hello, I am working on a GWagen 606 conversion.  I have the 603 pump with Goran's 7.5mm elements.  I would like to use the 606 fuel filter and I can not find information on how to route the fuel lines to the 603 pump/IP.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think it would be easier to get an earlier banjo-bolt style filter block from a junkyard car.  They fit the same mounting bolts and the filter itself is the same.

Reasons:
1) the OM606 o-ring fittings suck, they will leak when you can least afford it
2) the thimble sized pre-filter is not up to the job and is also a frequent site of air leaks.
3) mismatches between the OM606 piping and the OM603 fittings (as you have experienced)

Put a big pre-filter just in front of the tank.  There is a ton of space there and, being a low point in the system it will collect any water and algae sucked out of the tank.  I used a Racor PS120.  Over time I have saved the rest of the system from at least 1/2 cup of disgusting crud.

Thanks again Alan, advice taken; I will switch to the 603 style.

Just to mention, I asked Goran about use of the OM603 fuel filter, since you read about it so much on this board, and the reply was that it doesn't flow enough fuel for a superpump.

I don't know if anyone has tried to spec out the 603 fuel filter, and get actual numbers as to how much it can flow, how much pressure it can handle, etc, but the pressure and flow for the 603 IP in non-superpump form are definitely much lower than for a superpump.

If there is actually a difference between the 603 and 606 fuel filter, just use the 606 fuel filter on the 603 filter block.

I believe most of Std pumps using om601/2/3 fuel filter assy and black smoke left behind even with 500+Hp. Should flow enough.

Just go to the store and find a taller filter with the same diameter.
