big power!
Hi, my name is mark a new member to the forum!
I've been influinced by the Finnish legends and their drift merc!
I have to build one of these as its all I've thought of since I saw YouTube!
So the plan is...
I'm606 motor (I know for a 1996 300td so will have to check its the right motor)
Hx 35 from a leyland daf
Tubular manifold from a skyline but with the plates cut off and changed to merc
I understand I need a 603 mechanical pump
7.5mm elements
The biggest lorry intwrcooler I can get my hands on
I don't care about smoke or bad idle
I want huge wastegate chatter and turbo lag
Planning to build in the 300 then transfer to a SWB ford transit
I've had a lot of experience with transit turbo DI's and BMW Tds engines.
Anyone know how I identify the 606 and where I will find a mechanical pump?
Anything else I need anyone can think of will be a help!!
I'm in Dorset England!!
Mark.
Mechanical pump is from the earlier om603
om606
is in e300 95-99
oh well I guess even more years than that

I guess get the turbo one, right
Is the om603 the same as a 606 but with a mechanical IP?
I'm quite sure the car I'm going to look at tomorrow in my local breakers yard is a 1996 e300 elegance??
Would I be correct in saying that's mechanical 3.0 24v engine? I'm fairly new to the Mercedes scene if you didn't guess!!
I believe 606 are all electronic. But people do rewrite the chips and stuff like that. I thought om603 were 12v? Shows what I know. I can barely afford my old 617

This thing I found in the breakers yard is a turbodiesel 300 and its manual,
As to lag and idle, I don't care because I want something nasty, I want something violent and something that will embarrass an m5 while looking like a peice of crap.
Shiney things are for girls.
Before you confuse yourself with t and d
TD = Turbo Diesel
DT = Diesel Touring (estate non turbo)
TDT = Turbo Diesel Touring (estate turbo)
Smoke - unless you can get a dodgy mot then you should worry about it. Also i dont fancy a 3 point £60 fine by pulling away from a junction too quickly and shooting soot near a copper. Unfit for other road users etc cant see blah blah.
Shiny things arent just for girls, most of us take pride in our cars here.....
