85 300TD 4speed for sale in ca
I need to sell this car because I'm moving or I wouldn't be considering this at all.
I got it with a trashed auto, began a 5 speed swap, ran out of time, retrofitted the 4 speed and haven't completely finished.
Details:
has 240k miles on original OM617 turbo
rebuilt turbo with new compressor wheel and balanced rotating assembly (recreceipt on file)
78 non egr intake and exhaust manifolds installed as well as non recirculating turbo compressor housing
erg system, trap oxidizer, auto trans and associated vacuum crap is all removed
716.210 4 speed on custom fabricated crossmember with factory rubber mount
OM616 flywheel resurfaced and match balanced to original auto flywheel (receipt on file)
New Sachs clutch, new OEM master and slave cylinders, plumbed with new copper tube, brass fittings, and braided stainless flex hose
SLS control valve just rebuilt with OEM kit including new pistons, springs and check ball. SLS system refilled with Febi brand OE spec fluid and operating normally
Exhaust is a half inch flange, .065x3"od 304 stainless sanitary tube. JusJust a downpipe and turndown for now but the rest of the parts are there for a complete system to rear bumper In all 304ss
car has minor collision damage at front driver to grill, headlight and core support, can easily pull out sheetmetal and replace affected parts
Im sure there's more im forgetting, all questions welcome. I need to sell asap, asking $3000 as is. I dont have time to complete the project right now.
I should add that the driveshaft is cut and butt welded as a temporary solution. I drive it around town but not safe for freeway speeds.

Sale will include original Ca 85 manifolds and trap oxidizer, W115 OM617 N/A manifold, spare turbo for parts, and all my other Mercedes parts.

Picture of car? Not that I can buy it being across the country and what not. We need car porn though.
I get it at work, I'm a process pipe welder and I weld sanitary tube/stainless pipe and structural everyday. I get stainless drops and scrap often. You can contact a local pipe supplier and ask about sanitary tube but be ready for some sticker shock. The 4" .065" wall I have for my cummins is over $25/ft to buy retail.
Oh it looks nice. I am in LA. I already drive an 85 wagon with 189k though. Thanks for info on the pipe. If I needed a car I would buy it.

My family and I are moving to Magalia near Paradise. I don't think I'd survive another year in the valley if I had to!!
Awesome Brother...thats a nice part of the state! I was just up around those parts (near Yuba) on the way to Portland to pick up an OM606 a few weeks back. Again, I hope you can find a buyer, looks like a nice wagon and you've done some great work...If I had the room I would swap the remaining good parts off my w123 and run it. I've always loved the wagons.
