w202 om605 daily drifter
@danom606, its just wired into a switch, as such its lost its park position and just stops anywhere
been a while and not really much has happened, only bit of news i have is that my pump should be back from dieselmeiken this week. Everything else is ready so it should be seeing the track shortly into the new year
thought i should update this, no pics or videos atm, but i finaly got the car finished and onto the track, it pull slike a train, havent drove anything that comes close
as always, a few minor problems, clutch went completely at the end of the day, and handbrake wasnt locking up as it should, and a few small water leaks
going to have a look around and try to find a sprinter flywheel and clutch, as i want to go solid mass
finally got the car out to the first round of the ni drift ama, car is going well, only had a small problem, blew a boost pipe off but other than that it is going like a train, and pushing the bumpers of bmw m3's
still need to sort out my clutch, so FRAS, illl be in touch about a sachs pressure plate
only photo i have atm, what happens with no alda, and dropping off the turbo. There will be videos to follow later this weekend
so though it was about time i got another update done, only changed a couple wee bits on the car, i swear, so sorry for the essay in advance.
Engine to my surprise is still going, it breaths heavy and has little to no compression, with the gearbox off i can turn the flywheel by hand, with ease, can barely feel a compresion stroke in it. has been like that since round 1 and if it lasts to the last round ill be very surpised, i am building another engine for next year, bigger and better but still only 5 cylinder
so after the first round i managed to piece together bits of clutches from other cars, and got it to hold for now. Took it out for a test the weekend before round 2, came back home from it happy the clutch would hold and it did. Also in that week i sorted out abit of extra lock and camber, car handled alot better at the front. Also put a 6 speed box into it along with the clutch, massive improvement over the c250's standard box
round 2 i managed to quaify 24th. Considering i missed the saturday practice day due to the car not being ready i was happy. didnt have to battle for the last 8 places in top 32. But only my lead run in top 32 i had a puncture, ran to wide and got knocked out.
love that photo from round 2 but
So for round 3 i decided id go all out and sorted a very loose rear end, now consists of a fully rose jointed rear and grips really well, which did catch me out at round 3's practice day
sandblasted sub frame thanks to my sponser TJC powder coating
all painted
and all back into the car
i also had a slight problem with a rotten front spring mount, thats sorted and both sides are now strengthed
then onto the practice day for round 3. It didnt go to plan. On my third run out i clipped a wall with the back end, smashed a tail light and abit of a dent, nothing to major, the last run i got was the last for a good reason. When chasing i was to close at the wrong time, when he swung he cliped my front wing and i met the wall again, head on in 3rd gear
fiar play to mercedes, i barely felt it, and seen cars hit it slower and do alot more damage. Burst oil cooler, broke a bottom arm and bent a wing badly, work to 11 that night and went back out on sunday. It pissed down with rain in qualifying, big turbo meant it was undriveable and didnt qualify, but was still good fun.
and onto now, with round 4 coming up at the end of the month and a bent front end, nothing else for it but cut it all off and start again
yeh so its abit shorter and getting a bash bar
and how it sits now just waiting to be welded back together
have done other bits and pieces but no photos.
Also sorry for the photos, bit be abit odd, wrong size and wrong rotation
