Mentally challenged people. Over 3 years its had the radio stolen 3 times, a taillight backed into, headlight backed into, covered in grass clods by kids, 2 tires slashed and now this.

It was pure vandalism, nothing was taken and they didn't even open the door. There are several W123s in the yards so I'll just grab one tomorrow.

In the mean time I've removed the lock knob, and if some aretard tries to open the door from the inside handle he/she will get a nice surprise!

do you live in an apartment complex? I had this kind of stuff happen all the time too when i did and my stuff was parked in the lot. Got sick of it and moved into a technically worse area, but with more protected parking back around a small house.
Worse that ever happened there was some kids tried to drive my engineless parts car with the key in it. They looked pretty sheepish after a while, I watched them from my kitchen. You should look around for a place with a driveway or garage.

I friggin hate random vandalism. You sure this was not some estranged woman?

I like the door handle, sneaky. what is that? looks like a twisty tie

I left all of them back in Oklahoma.
If there was some intended message I'm not getting it. There are ample open parking spaces (as you can see from the picture), I didn't park in one of the good spots, I was parked cleanly between the lines, the nose wasn't hanging out, there are no political stickers on it and I haven't had an argument with anyone since the squirrel narc moved away.

Fixed the window yesterday using one from a junkyard 84 300TD. Total cost was $25 plus I had to remove the factory tint and some junkyard ID spray paint.
It was a hell of a lot easier than I expected; remove the door panel, pull off the felt strips, remove two bolts and it slips right out/in!

On a side note: From my porch a few minutes ago I heard a familiar clatter. Went to the parking lot to see a maroon 300D leaving after pausing to look at my cars... maybe it was all a conspiracy by some Benzworld/PP members? Wink

My girlfriend got mad at me the other day for screaming at some woman for ignoring my requests to back up a foot so I could use the diesel pump her CRV was blocking. I'm very nice in general but it's a fact that many people think Mercedes Benz drivers are smug or conceited or think they're better than other people. The guy in the dodge towig a boat that pulls up right behind me as I'm about to parallel park and I'm wrong for just sitting there patiently for his horn to stop and him drive away screaming at me. I grew up in a neighborhood with a Benz in every driveway, never a problem for me there. No screaming. No yelling at mothers infront of their children. Move in with my girlfriend in a gritty blue collar neighborhood and I get someone blowing their horn twice a day driving by our house for months. Chrysler Pacifica.. Catch her driving by my house with my keys in my hand and she looks at me and blows the horn. I chased her down and after the cops left I wasn't allowed to park on the street but didn't get arrested or warned or anything. My girlfriend thinks it's cause of where I parked but I've seen a pattern in my life of people acting like assholes to me because of my car and i've had enough. I just give it to them now.
And this is why we can't have nice things.

They CAN! They think they can't. My 300D is probably cheaper to restore and own than a new Chrysler Pacifica. I'm not wealthy. I have no preconception of myself. Lots of people in this country are defeatist. It's reinforced every day by the media. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, MTV Cribs, makeup commercials. I remember growing up in a wealthy neighborhood with lots of locals vs. weekenders from NYC. I remember my friends being rude to people in nice cars, giving them wrong directions, etc, just because they or their sinifigant other worked hard or at least had good credit. How many times growing up I've heard the phrase, "the asshole in the Mercedes". Or BMW. BMWs do tend to drive like assholes I owned one and it's a good reason to drive like an asshole but anyway... It's different out west where the class lines/identities are a little more blurred. I am blue collar, I work like a dog for those rich people and they love me and actually help me out quite often. When I'm done peeling fiber backed tar off your rooof with my brother a pair of gloves and a torch in 90 degree direct sunlight I get in my Mercedes, shower and change and put on bright yellow plaid golf pants, get in my car with my English mastif that matches my palomino interior and go drink Hendricks Gin with my HARD EARNED MONEY.. I'm done, sorry to hijack your thread Forced.

How about car maintenance. It used to be every man had a toolset and did his own oil change atleast. No more. I am all about DIY. I just updated my website with some of my philosophy on this.

My father even pays to have his oil changed and succumbes to rust and just buys a new truck. He still digs his own swimming pool. But he's a good indicator of the times because he was a real dropout back in the day.
That lady that was blowing her horn at my parked car just drove by and I waved and she waved back. It's cool. She was a bitch like I called her and she knows it. She feels bad and so do I for yelling at her. That's how I want it. We disagreed, yelled and a little resolution is just healthy. I don't want hard feelings toward my neighbor.
