Fitting the engine is very easy, getting the computers to play nice is the challenge.

the problem I forsaw was the whole immobiliser ecu talking to the engine ecu talking to the gearbox ecu situation, all over canbus, with no idea what the signals would be?

I thought about getting a w210 320cdi and putting that in my 201 but abandoned the idea for the same reason.

the sprinter is easier because of less "blocking" ecu components.

I have fit an OM647 Sprinter 5 cylinder into a Vixen 21 Motorcoach. Mounts, brackets, custom flywheel, trans adapter are done and perfect.

I can't break the immobilizer. Silly me.

I've broken GM and Chrysler VATs for our Winnebago engine conversion (www.lesharo.com) with no problem. I've worked on Mercedes and BMW since 1965 but I need help on this one.

Can anyone help with the Bosch immobilizer issue??????

Does anyone know if there are Sprinters produced for Commercial Fleet purposes or maybe central Africa the come WITHOUT the immobilizer?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Greg

I can't help much on the immobilizer except to say that running an aftermarket standalone ECM will cure that problem in a roundabout way.

Which transmission are you running behind that OM647?
I'm in the process of engineering a method of bolting up a GM 4L80E in my W210/OM606.

Thanks,

Matt

I don't know about the mercedes specifically but I know that the bosch immobilizers in volvos can be immobilized by shorting two pins together.

I will search for immobilizing immobilizers tomorrow
