I bought this about 6 months ago. Since I got it I have done quite a bit. Rear bushings, Bilstein HD struts and shocks, fan clutch, euro headlights, CLK wheels, 400E sway bar, tons of vacuum repair, tie rods, odometer fix, replaced seats and drivers door panel, repainted bumpers, grill, replaced center stack console, later leather steering wheel, added a BBS rear spoiler, glow plugs, motor mounts....I am sure more.

Yea, it was lightly tagged in front before I got it. When I get it painted I straighten it out.

looks great! do you have any rubbing with those CLK rims on there? Did it require any spacing out, what did you use?

The tires do not rub the fenders, I am running 205/55 16. No spacers. I did have to cut down the lug bolts because they are too long.

Over the last few days I replaced the front control arms with new complete units. One old ball joint had play in it and the bushings were pretty cracked. The new bushings are harder than the OE ones and the NVH did increase a little but it is well worth it. It is so much more stable at speed and the bump steer is gone under hard cornering. I also removed the rear spring pads to lower the rear about 13/16". Finally matches the front.

Last fri night I had to get fueled up at In-N-Out in Allen TX so I could go the the wrecking yard.

I picked up a few things, I am changing the interior to black. Picked up extra seat cushions, black header panel, uncracked 93 dash, later rear deck panel, black sun visors, tan front door panels, 2 door straps, 4 black fabric covered door weatherstrips, spare diesel tach, glow plug controller (2001 build date) and various other things.

Finally finished my black interior install. Originally blue interior. Ended up changing or painting everything, door panels, rear deck, A, B and C pillar trim. Installed black seats and carpet. The past weekend I installed a good black dash, new heater core, 3 vacuum elements and painted the center console and center stack. Also put carbon filer wrap on the wood pieces. Worked on is for 14-15 hours in 100F temp. Fun times.

It's a great looking car. I like the early models without the body cladding.

Thanks guys. I also added a digital volt meter to the dome light and added a interior vent temp display made from a spare outside temp display.

I am also the proud owner of an '87 190DT engine, with 5-speed, transplanted into a '93 190E 2.6 Chassis.

BSharp, yours is looking great. What size tires are you running? I'm on a mix of 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 on the rear. It's time for new rubber, and think that I should step down in diameter, make all 4 the same size tires, and also give it an altitude adjustment.

I am running 205 55 16 front and back. The car is lowered 1/2-3/4 front and rear.

Sounds like a good size to me (205/55/16) all around. As you can see from the photo, mine sits plenty high right now (especially in the front). Have you had any issues with the fronts rubbing on your fenders?

I have done the fender spacer trick on the front, and "rolled" the inner lip of the front fenders. I have no rubbing right now, but I think that's mainly due to the large fender gap.

Thanks again,

Steve.
