However I will say that the stock MB seats (if in good condition) are probably superior for long distance highway cruising, and for cranking the seat back and catching a roadside snooze...superb.
FYI Civics, Sentras, and many other Japanese cars have similar seats, and word to the wise: when Mazda does something right, it tends to do it VERY right. I doubt very much any MB head would complain about a MKIII RX7's front seats in a 123.

05-13-2009, 12:18 AM #10I had a couple of MKI MR2's and those seats are LIGHT. Recaros from a MKII GLI were easily twice as heavy, and I'd hate to use them for a daily driver, methinks. (I'm 6'2" tall and wide at the shoulders, mind you.) They're also made out of that weird indestructible kind of fabric also associated with cloth Volvo 240 interiors. The MR2 seat is a very Japanese kind of semi-ideal compromise between day to day usefulness and performance (in this case, lateral support).
