Well guys, it is about that time of year again. Only a few more weeks of class, then exams and I am home for the summer. This means it is summer car project time.

Last summer, it was the 4 speed swap for my SD and let me say it was worth every penny. Even though it took more of them and longer than originally planned, but doesn't everything?

This summer, I want to do a turbo project. My problem is that I am not exactly well educated on turbo sizing and picking one out. I understand how they work and have rebuilt one off a Cummins, but thats about it.

What my goal for the car is, is just to be something fun to drive around it. Like I said it is a project. That being said, it is also my daily driver. I need it for work 5 days a week in the summer and then to get me back to school come the fall. Project and daily driver don't usually go well together, but I don't really have the funds/space/time/yadda yadda yadda for a second car, so thats how it has to go.

I guess my question is, can someone help me choose a turbo or help me learn how to choose a turbo?

I know its been done. I saw dieselboy's hy35 SD and that is one option as my fueling will be roughly the same. I know Rudolph was planning to use a gt35 on his build, but he has that supercharger too. I don't really have a preference as to standard or VGT, just need to keep the cost in mind.

So yeah, I've got my ASE, I know how to turn a wrench, I'm never scared of some welding, I've got plenty of tools and I will have the time. I just need some extra education that $30k a year can't provide for me. Haha
