I just bought this engine from a junkyard. The engine was hydro-locked. the owner got water into the aircleaner while driving(hmm?Dodgy) resulting in a bent rod(or two).
When I looked at the crank I noticed some discoloration on the crank around the rods. Does this mean that the engine has been driven without oil and got very hot?
The bearings looks ok but they could have been changed, but what about the rest inside the engine that needs oil?
I have 603 turbo rods, can I use them in this 606?
Maybe this is not the best engine for a superturbo projectConfused

Try and stick with turbo 606 rods they are stronger than the turbo 603 rods

Some more info. One of the glow plugs was stuck. Moved only 1/4 turn in and out. I got it out without damaging anything after 2 daysSmile
I turned the engine to the right on the engine stand so that I could make a puddle around the GP with penetrating oil. then I heated the area and let it cool for a day and heated it again. Then I started to turn it back and forth and slowly it came out. Patience is the key I guess. Now I need to find out how to clean the tube between the treads and the pre chamber. Any suggestions?
