I agree with the stretched tires thing... hate it personally...

I like the drop though... looks sweet and as said above with some decent sized wheels it would look sweet.

That wheel/tire combo is fuckin stupid!

Please give me ONE good reason for choosing that. Don't worry ...... I'll wait

That is just ass backwards. the tire should ALWAYS be wider than the wheel.

I just cant get over this. If I saw that guy I have to slap some sense into him

makes the side wall stiffer. nothing really "good" about it. but why not? people like the way it looks. its all preference. sure the stretch is pretty ridiculous but it adds to the look.

but if you want to get all mean about it tires shouldn't be wider either. then you get a retarded amount of sidewall flex and it doesn't handle right.

they should be wide enough to put the side wall in the correct position it was designed to be used at. preferably the measured wheel width but anything with in the with range is technically acceptable.

if i were in the situation and i had one size tire and i could put it on a wheel that is too skinny or too wide. i would definitely take the wide. and i guarantee you it would preform better

but yea i love haters is pretty lame. lol

Places where the sidewall/tread width is wider than the wheel:

NASCAR
Offroad (Any form)
Drag racing (any form)
AMA
....

That "retarded" amount of flex is an IMPORTANT factor! All forms of racing depend on it

Tongue

Your right, its all about opinion, I just think it looks hideous lol

He might have rolled the fenders just to fit those tires on those rims. Looks to me if the tires were any wider, IE, the right tires for rims like that, he'd have fender/tire rubbing if he doesn't already.

The guy did a nice job on the fender roll though, especially the rear, looks nothing like my 115, which stock hardly has any flare out for the tires.

Yes I can, haha probly not for long though... I can feel the doors move in the body when flexing. Eeeek! I will be welding up chassis stiffeners shortly!

(09-12-2011, 07:50 AM)iheartboost Hell yea capt. Is it manual? Do you plan to cage it?

Its Semi-Auto lol. It has the Auto AW4 that I shift manually with three switches. I plan to exo cage it after I do boat sides.

This weekend I cut and folded the rear flares and quarters. Also hacked the bumper

Dont wanna thread jack but I have a "build thread" Here: http://www.xjsocal.com/showthread.php?30...#post29168

Color of money was a way nicer car. He went downhill a little with the wires but still nicer than this pos.

We will have to go wheeling sometime since desert season is real close. I know a bunch of fun trails that you can do and few other that I can winch you up.

not to knock lowering, but I can never understand the goal. I mean, you just spend tons on money and ingenuity on making the car nearly impossible to drive normally. Where can you take that car?

One of the things I most love about some of these older cars is that they have a fairly high ground clearance, and are pretty robust, making them able to go most places within reason.
I would just hate to have that beautiful 115, and then not be able to take it everywhere, especially in CO where its based. My favorite part of the 115s is that it feels like a smaller sportier car than the 123 stock, even though its almost the exact same size.
