Just wondering what, if any parts are interchangeable between the w116 and w123 diesels (obviously engine parts). Looking more for stuff along the lines of body, interior, that kind of stuff. Scored a sweet w116 with a low 110k miles and a freshly rebuilt engine, unfortunately the car has been sitting for a while and has some issues. I need a new rear seat or covers at least, dashboard, and the biggest thing I was wondering about is if I could relatively easily put a manual climate control in it, instead of the uber complicated automatic one that doesn't work

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

I would say very little. Certainly not the stuff you listed.

Shouldn't be that hard to find parts though, I've seen alot more of the gasser version than the diesel.

Yeah I realised the dash wasn't interchangeable. I thought maybe the climate control might be, since I'm pretty sure I've seen both models with the vertical buttons, and know w123 cars can be changed to manual (or so I've heard).

Well you generally swap out the whole airbox to do a manual conversion, that's the part I'd be worried about.

Hmmm, I'll have to look into it and see if it can be done. Also, if anybody has any w116 parts I might be in the market to buy haha

You would need to find a donor Euro for manual controls and airbox.

You need these wheels! It would look hot on your car plus lowered a bit.

I would get those wheels, if I had a lot more money to spend haha, and I'm also in the middle of a little crisis right now with the w123
