On my 87 300TDT the trap ox has been removed and the bypass installed but the EGR has not been taken off. What year of non-EGR, non-trap ox manifold will fit? Has anyone seen one for sale?

Also, I suspect (not confirmed) that my head might be messed up and I might need to replace it at some point. Will the #17, #18, #20, #22 heads all fit the 603? What mods need to be done? What engines are these later heads from and did all the '87 603's have the #14?

Thanks.

Denis

The non-trap manifold is on the w140 s class. The heads are interchangeable, the newer heads use different injector hard lines. All 87s started with early heads, quite a few were changed out to newer heads later on though.

So the manifold from the 3.5L 603 from the '91 to '96 w140s will fit? What about the 606?

Also: are the fuel injector bodies themselves different on the later heads?

A 606 head won't fit on there. The injector bodies are different as well, with different threads.

Thanks for all the advice! Will the exhaust manifold from the 606 fit on the 603 though?

Nope. A lot of this has to do with the 24v vs 12v issue.

There's an exhaust manifold sticky. That there is a mislabeled pick of a 606 manifold. If you look elsewhere in the thread there are pics of the various 603 manifolds, with round ports instead of the 606's oval ports.
