There's the core the air goes thru, and a water circuit, and a radiator to disperse the heat picked by the water in the core.

The core size would be calculated by how much cfm of air you need for the hp you want, so it's directly related to hp. The radiator size would be based off how much heat the turbo generates, which could vary depending on the turbo.

If you don't want to go to the trouble of custom-fabbing a one-piece combination intercooler-and-boost-pipe (manifold), then

http://www.frozenboost.com

offers a wide variety of inlet/outlet configurations and horsepower ratings. Model INT000213

http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info....ec63b4fb8b

looks like it might be useful on an OM617 Federal, if combined with a W115 300D boost pipe (intake manifold). The barrel-style intercoolers shown at

http://www.frozenboost.com/index.php?cPa...ec63b4fb8b

also might be useful.
