Just picked up an 87 190d non turbo 5 speed w 136,000 miles. Wondering what the main difference is from the turbo injection pump and engine? Can i put a turbo manifold on it and 7mm elements in the pump? its OM602? just wondering. waste of time or not.

How much power do you want? Obviously the NA can't be taken as far as a originally-turbo engine. I would guess 250hp, course you won't know what the limit is exactly til something breaks.

A 7mm pump, the smallest turbo that does the hp you want (hy35 perhaps?), an intercooler.

My om602 na, now has sprinter exaust and turbo, and tuned ip(stock elements), and it´s going strong... Now searching for best interccoler without too much "cutting" i have a bit high temps when i pull too much Smile

i think i should be about 115/120hp

Sounds good. so i eventually will get 7mm elements put in the pump, buy a turbo manifold and hx35/40. some fabricating and see what happens.

Will the stock turbo manifold fit an hx35 turbo, or is the t3 flange position only allow stock size turbo?

The stock turbo 2.5 manifold is a T25. T3 allows holsets etc.

Here's winmutt's T3-T25 adapter, you'd need the opposite:

ok cool, as long as the turbo will fit.

Is there any companies that make an intercooler kit for the om60x engines? probly just all custom.

In Theory yes..
but the question is, will your N/A engine take the beating ?
it might handle it, but if it does you would be lucky Wink

I figure it should handle it for a little while, its only got 140,000 miles, and if i dont beat it all the time, if it last 10,000 miles id be happy.

I dont keep vehicles too long before i get board of them
