1.5 is not alarming enough to shut down like that. Pretty much where my hot idle is all the time. With most benzes it's a bit closer to two but 1.5 has not bothered my particular car for the past 40k miles.

Factory spec says minimum 0.3. In practice I only get worried below 1 bar, and and the actual oil system failures I have encountered were definitely not gradual, more like a couple twitches and then zero.

it should be pegged at 3 above ~1500 RPM or so... but 1-2 idle at N.O.T. is fine... if you see it drop while revs are up, then thats something to worry about...check oil level, likely low if that happens or theres a catastrophic leak, which I guess would make it low too...

Have you changed the two o-rings that are at the head of the oil filter housings pin? They made a difference on my oil pressure.

Check those orings-every 61X engine I've worked on those orings were so old I thought they were black plastic and crumbled pretty easily

You mean at the tip of that tube that goes through the filter? They are supposed to be rubber rings on there?
I have never seen any, though I have seen the grooves. Maybe they have disintegrated on my cars and I never even knew it.

Yea, that's exactly what I ment but I just couldn't explain it understandably. There really are supposed to be two rubber rings. They affect the oil pressure. My oil pressure used to be about 2 bars on idle and then I changed the o-rings and the oil pressure increased to 3 bars.

zomg, I had no idea. Got a part number? Link? Actually the hardware store here has loads of o-rings. But I don't know if I could pick out a good fit.

Just need that oil filter relocation and upgrade to some baldwin spin on. That dumb mbz canister is awful.

I just had a look at my filter. Those rings were there and they seemed to be hard plastic. Not so much a rubber o-ring. I am confused as to how they got on there. They seem super hard and I can't imagine how they could stretch to fit on.
I just left them alone. Maybe I should look for a replacement and crack them off.
