Custom ECU my be better route. However....

If you use a om602 pump with EDC it has a simple fuel rack position sensor that you may be able to use for the output to the ( throttle position ) Also you would need to leave the throttle pedal sensor hooked up to your throttle pedal to give the EGS a signal. Also you would need to leave the guts of the old edc pump hooked up and working somewhat so no fault codes would be set, which would set the EGS into limp home mode.
Just my thoughts..

will a 722.6 tranny from a w220 s400cdi be a direct fit to w210 320cdi ?

No, different bolt pattern, need to swap the bellhousing.

(06-10-2013, 06:03 AM)EDH_Performance Hi all,

i have an w202 0m605 turbo with a 722.6 gearbox!
My plan is to mount a dieselmeken 8mm mechanical pump and big turbo.
Is there any trix to do this modification and still keep the stock gearbox ecu?

My plan was to keep engine ecu, gearbox ecu and still have the edc guvenor connected and working ( dismantel this from the edc pump, and just have it under the intake)

Will this work? Or do i need a custom ecu for the gearbox?

If you connect a throttle cable from the 602 pump, piggy backed on to the original throttle pedal or the ECU throttle potentiometer and leave the EDC plugged in then the engine will not know anything is different. I want to do this also, otherwise got to buy Ole's controller and swap.

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.

What oil temperature is critical for 722.6? It stays on 85-90C when driving normally but goes way over 100 degrees celsius when driving on race track.

id guess that is "to high" do you have a cooler?
I would probably aim to not get it above 80-90degrees myself i think. the lower the better... (to a certain degree)

anyhow, sourcing parts for a 722.6 build, got both the w202 om605 turbo 722.6 aswell as the w210 om606 turbo 722.6
havent removed them from the cars, does anyone have torque ratings for different types of 722.6 gearboxes,

wondering if i should go the extra step to accquire the 722.6 from the w210 or settle for the 722.6 w202 and rebuild it later on.

Here you can see different amount of clutches inside the boxes (722.608 is the om606.962, 722.626 is 320cdi from w210). Best of these is that 722.626 320cdi box with maximum amount of clutches from factory (in wa580 boxes, wa900 whole different story). This box can take easily with aftermarket controller 700nm and probably more if in good condition.

I have 722.626 with OM606 and it made 716nm from wheels, so about 850nm from engine, box was working without problems. This year I hope to get 1000nm from engine, I'll let you know how it goes.

i got hands on a 722.666 from a ML 55 but the rear of the housing is different to mount the Transfercase.

is it possible to mount the normal driveshaft flange there?
