This thing is making me want to pull my hair out.
I'm not timing it in any manual recommended way, just by how it starts and how it runs, because that's how I time everything.

Anyhow, I am trying to get the IP to adjust, and I can't get the Darn thing to rotate. Three flange nuts loose, and the support is unbolted off the block (oil filter relocation fitting block me from loosing the bolt)
I have tried taking a giant pair of Channel locks onto it and trying to turn it. Nothing. Am I missing something?

I'm goin back down to the shop in a minute to tinker with it some more, maybe ill figure it out, maybe not.

Are the fuel and injector lines off? If they're old and stiff nothing is moving. Also, it's not going anywhere with the injector lines on there

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )

Yes, i took them off at the injectors. And I even got that little PIA support bolt loose. Still nothing, hell I've had IP with all injection lines hooked up turn easier than this!

With I've pulled with all my might, it'll rock the whole engine and not budge. The timing is completely retarded on the pump, not that that makes a difference, just saying.

I have rotated them with a 2x4 in the past.
Find a place to lever against the unibody. Put some small blocks of 2x4 in there too if it helps get into a good position.

Rusted out beat down 300d turbo 82' -- RIP
Nice body, tons of ridiculous mechanical issues - 300d turbo 82' /motor 85'

I used a huge prybar on the 123. Never even thought about putting my hands on it.

Finally, took all the lines off and turned it a smidge.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one that had trouble turning it. Now to test drive and see how it helped. The real test will be to see if it starts in the cold, and if it doesn't, I'm putting it back to where it was.

Thanks fellas

Mine moves super easily after I loosen all the nuts and take the injector lines off
