I want to redo my 617 head with oversized valves and I need a reputable shop in or near LA. Anybody know a good place? Metric will only do stock spec. Thanks.

Try this outfit.  Member MBZ300CD was very happy with his 617 head rebuild (stock of course, but they seem like an outfit who could do more)

Thanks DV. I gave them a call. Seems like a capable place; hopefully they will get back to me sometime this week. I was hoping to pull it this weekend but I am still waiting for the triple hex 12mm long socket to come in for the head bolts.

I ended up going with Mike at Metric. Super proficient and familiar with these heads, no more expensive than anyone else, fast and friendly. Took awhile to find a head good enough to rebuild though; most are cracked.

No strictly stock is the only thing metric does. I called a bunch of places about it but didn't have time to chase around. Steeldustmachine on insta gram could probably do a good job with that. In nocal.
