I know it's not directly Merc but it's certainly related.

Are the E28 524TDS mechanical bosch pumps the same as the E28 524D mechanical bosch pumps?

Is the 524D pump the same / as good?

Does anyone know the differences?

nep , not very versed in BM´s but seems like u have a huge diferencee from IDI to DI,
but if u get the pumps numbers i can check whats the componentes diff.
the number is the one started 04. engine manufacturer number

looking to the numbers , i can see no difference in the componentes,
looking to the numbers , is the same pump both are the same
0460 406 022... same pump same tune table, same thing
instalation number is diff , but that is manufacturer number , has nothing to do with the specs, is more likely related to hardware like springs and conections.
