Hi all,

I might be looking to swap out my OEM diff at some point to something with a better ratio for acceleration, owing to the fact that I will be drag racing I doubt I will ever top the car out at its top speed in the 1/4 mile so will be looking to tweak it for acceleration instead.

Is there any swappable diffs out there from other models that would increase the acceleration - not really too worried about top end.

Theres a bunch, somewhere is a great spread sheet of what diffs fit with what car and what flange etc etc...
Are you swapping a W124? If so the 300/260E diffs are 3.27 and a direct bolt in. Though only 185mm so not the strongest.
The best bet is the 400E subframe with a SL320 diff housing.

Nope, just the standard OM606.962 in the w210 stock estate body, its currently all bone stock at the moment and am doing everything in stages, just researching options although now that the 722.6 box isn't stuck in 'W' mode it does still accelerate pretty well, just wondering if there was a simple swap that could be done.

Nope, just the standard OM606.962 in the w210 stock estate body, its currently all bone stock at the moment and am doing everything in stages, just researching options although now that the 722.6 box isn't stuck in 'W' mode it does still accelerate pretty well, just wondering if there was a simple swap that could be done.

If I were building it I'd look into fitting the Jaguar Salisbury/Dana 44 IRS. It'd probably need major mods to your floor pan & trunk but the way these rear clips are configured with inboard disk brakes and a multitude of gear ratios (2.88 to 4.55) and track widths from 52"-61" has always made them appealing to hot rodders. Locking diffs are common too!
You should have no problem finding them locally!
If you're looking for a bolt on solution then disregard the above :-)

Thanks for the info, it will be for drag racing, but will also be driven to and from the track, its also on a budget, currently looking at basic mods to get the most out of the stock setup (weight reduction, tweaks to intake, exhaust, fueling and meth injection etc). Due to it being an estate is also good as it will allow for more internal space, currently looking at bolt on options as I can't yet weld etc. I am also over in the UK so some of the hot rodder parts are usually hard to find which is why I was looking at uprated OEM parts initially.
