Hey im trying to do some calculations to set the rear gears on my grand cherokee Om617, im positive it nedds higher number on the rear but for that i just need one more piece of info and is if the converter has a clutch on it, i looked that the om617 transmission has a 3.54 first and a 1to1 4 fourth gear, i will be thankful to verify this info and to know about the converter lock up

Are you 2wd or 4? Yes I believe that the 722.3 and 722.4 have a 1:1 ratio. Unsure if I remember right but I think it's 3.68:1, 2.44:1, 1.41:1, 1:1

Is a two wheel drive with the same weight of a 300sd 3900 pounds, the transmission is a aw4 from a Cherokee qith a. 75 overdrive thats is having 1600 rpm at 55 but my calculations tells me that a 300sd has on its final gear around 2250 rpm, but if the tras doesn't have a converter clutch i will have to add probably around 200 rpm on 55,where im sitting now seems that i need a 4.56 against what I have now 3.55

So, you aren't running the transmission that came with the 617? (That would be the 722.3)

I believe your logic is correct. I have 4.56 in my Jeep Cherokee. May be some good info for you in my build.

I installed the 4.56 it worked great but i removed it because it was having poor mpg compared to the 3.55,i know i will loose some but was too much, i installed a 3.73 runs a lot better than my 3.55 but with good mileage, just an update

Thank you for the update. I use this Jeep heavily offroad but it is also my daily driver. I'm running 32.4" tires. I gained about 2mpg when I wired the torque converter lockup. I'm getting 17mpg around town I'd guess about 20mpg on the highway, my Jeep is getting pretty heavy with all the crap I keep adding.

What kind of milage are you getting? And what were you getting with the 4.56? Lift? Converter lockup? Tires?
