Hello, my stock om605 with with old mechanical pump (from OM602) and 6mm elements makes a "suffocates" at higher rpm (after cca 4200rpm).
Motor runs very well with 0,9 bar and pump set to cca 2/3 max delivery...easily can reach 5500 rmp.
But after change to max fuel delivery and 1,3-1,4 bar pressure something is broken and after reaching 4200 rpm motor drops power to zero and makes strange noise and vibration...after 15 sec of harrasing at idle recover yourself and works fine from idle to 4200rpm, after reaching 4200 rpm it makes again.

I have no idea what it could be... Too much fuel,or not enought fuel, too much boost presure, or not enought, or bad timing (changed after demontage and montage pump) ?
Have you experienced something similar?
I appreciate any advice and help.
Sorry for "english".
Thank you.

Rig a fuel pressure gauge (with long enough hose to fit outside) in between the fuel filter and IP and see what happens in those situations

Can you see the exhaust when the engine dies at 4200 rpm? I had a similar problem with my Scirocco, it sometimes overfueled so badly that the engine almost stalled, it ran very rough for a couple of seconds until there was enough heat again to ignite the fuel... And it threw 100 of grey Persian cats out of the exhaust system....
