Hello to everyone!
Checked search already but nothing common.

What r about viscosity and oil brand using in stock/ tuned OM606 ?
I have used 229.3 and 229.5 BEVO lists and 5W30 Motul 8300 and LM Toptec 4100.
Not bad and very small oil burnout.(~1 liter on 10 000 km)

But now want to use 0W30 or 0W40 Petronas 7000 .
Any thoughts?

Much appreciate any experience!
My regards!

I have always used Mobil 1 turbodiesel 0-40 and changed it every 2-3000 miles as STD’s load the oil up with soot quickly. No issues todate.
Plus I know someone very well who worked in F1 engine research in the 1990’s and they were sponsored by another brand of oil (not Mobil), but used Mobil 1 in the engines…

W124 om606 HX40 finished and it's a beauty 450bhp/456ft-lbs

Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 will do you just fine. I've ran it in my VE TDIs' for years with excellent results in both stock and highly modified engines. It's designed for and works great with soot. Best of all is it's affordable and easy to get at Walmart in the states -don't know about Europe. Surely Walmart has taken over Europe too.

we use rotella t6 5-40 in our vw and ill tell you we have lost 2 oil pans(bugs don't go on rough roads well, specially with no skid plate...) and we have only lost one turbo the engine is still running great. the first time i drove a mile with almost no oil in it, and the turbo still took 6 months to finish off the bearing, still hasnt affected the engine, thank god. I've always run delo 400 15-40 in my mercs but if i had a om606 id run rotella t6 in it. very good oil imo.

Hey Edian, we are neighbors, I am over in Bayview Idaho. I agree with you Rotella is a great oil, I use it in all my Mercedes diesel conversions I do no problems.
