Hi...

I am thinking of make an compound, at this time have a hx35/40..(engine om605)
So my question is..
which small turbo I can use to really make a difference at low revs, but that the compressor housing is not restricted to the flow of HX40?
My doubt is, what is the minimum size for the compressor wheel for the small turbo to negotiate the flow of HX40?!

compounds are difficult to size correctly. you can get a set up to work but to really take advantage of them you need to do some careful math. first what HP are you aiming for? what fueling is your pump delivering? how do you feel about smoke, is a little ok or do you want it to be entirely clear? what kind of budget do you have, its easier to get good compressor matches with nicer turbos available. and finally what rpm do you want to run?
i have been working with compound sizing a lot lately. while im using an om617 the principle is the same regardless of engine. all you have to adjust is the displacement, VE, and rpm limits. the calculator i have been using to get rough ideas of mass flow requirements and pressure ratios is this one http://not2fast.com/turbo/glossary/turbo_calc.shtml you will have to input the variables for your engine. i dont know that much on the exact details of the 60X engines but the VE is probably around 85% it is a 4 valve engine after all.[/url]
