Hi, been some time since last question, reading tho.

Om617 with M-pump, 7.5mm, Intercooler air to air, up graded garrett T3 turbo, 315's nozzles,
In front of manual 5 speed gearbox.

Ok, when 12lbs of boost is reached the boost falls off with a slight whistle/churp sound.
Wastegate is set at 12lbs.

What could this be?
Power is there still but boost fall off has my attention.

Don't normally drive the engine this hard but this happens every time.

Maybe bad IC hose?

12psi, hum that is odd
try around 20 , that seems to be something related with the control , maybe some defect in the , 12 is to low for any diesel specially with a 7.5mm M.
but it may be a odd leak ...

20lbs?
I'm still learning here so forgive this novice question,
Isn't that too much for the headgasket to safely handle?

AND thank you for your reply

nop ,
u can run 30psi, if u can achieve that pressure with your turbomachinery.
The gasket will hold, what will kill your engine is the internall heating, coolant, oil and gases. Therefore keeping the gases cool is so importante as any other cooling.
The fueling , well a 617A handles 150cc if u can maintain the other parameters controlled.(coolant oil and gases)

i don´t know much about .60 trim and stock garrets or captain america´s turbo , but 2 bar (30psi)boost with resonably low EGP is not so easy to atain, and the gasket will hold.
My experience with the 7.5mm M pumps , is another story , they will rock your world, and turn your sleeper 617A into a real diesel engine, but u got to give it some air to breath to burn the fuel available.
among other modifications u got to do if u want some reliability, but the gasket will hold .
if u need more detailed info , just ask.
regards
