anybody ever had problems with the auxiliary belt squealing after new belts. It’s stops squealing wen it warms up. Suggesting lack of tension. But I’ve put new damper and tensioner wheel on. Then another belt. Do the tensioner springs wear out over time?? Only thing I can think of. I’m running a 6pk2080 belt. (No air con) I also keep losing the outer most rib on the belts. It keeps separating. Everything runs true with very little pulley wobble on the auxiliaries. Any advice would be appreciated.

Assembly turns... just that...
In other words, it was not assembled correctly!
Once the alternator pulley also got loose... and killed the belt by separation of tracks over time...

Does the one-way clutch on the alternator work correctly? If not it will gradually wreck the belt.

On those that use it...
Probably that is just a missalignment of some nature or play ...
Usually its the wooble noise from the tensioner that drive people to touch that belt and  after end up with the wooble and other problems...
Disassemble, inspect carefully and assemble with user manual. All will be solved.

The Engine I put in the truck came with an alternator without a clutch. After using a dial gauge on the pulleys there is a fair bit of wobble on the water pump pulley. So I’ve ordered a new one. Il post my results.

What engine?

I have 606 in w202 (which has slightly smaller pas pulley than the w210 the engine came from) and I have 6pk2065 belt. It squeaked with 6pk2070 belt.

The tensioner pulley is about 5-10mm from touching the crank pulley, the slightly extra tension from the shorter belt cured it for me.

Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
[i]Less rust..

It’s a 605.962. But has no air con pump now so is running a 6pk2030 belt. Il check the gap clearance from the tensioner to the crank pulley. See wat I’ve got.
