My 83 300D - BRABUS - 10-14-2010 Hello Here is a little info about my car. I bought it for 800$ for 6months ago, only thing i needed to change was front brake calipers and handbrake wires. Things that I have done: Dropped it 2rings in the front(will drop it in the rear when i get my new rear shocks) Melber 8x16 et11 rims with 205/55 16 Boost and EGT gauges. and a little stereo and other smal things. The engine is a om617 NON turbo with a turbo innlet/exhaust manifold, fitted with a holseth hx40g with exhaust housing 13. The IP is a standar M pump, that is tuned up max. Also have a custom built vacuum modulator for harder shifting over 20% throttle. Transmisson is a 722.4 Also have a custom 3" down pipe and 3" exhaust with 1 little rear "silencer" The car is going to be a "daily driver"(yeah right) Here is some pics of the car and the engine. And i little video that show Boost thru 1 2 3 gear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaykpYKZxig max boost is 0.8bar i 1 2 3 gear Plans: Just bought a om617 turbo that im going to build up with new internals, h beam rods, regrinded camshaft, double valve spring and ported innlet and exhaust channels in the head. IP for the new engine is a M with BIGGER elements and another camshaft. Going to use a 722.4 or some chevy transmisson with the new engine. Drivetrain is possible gonna be w126 or maybe a chevy rear axel, time will show But this is my second project, so its not 1priority This is my 1priority A 98mod E230 Turbo. Unless the body there is almost nothing oem left on the car, custom aem fuel/ignition controller, c230kompressor engine with all custom internals. T3/4 stage 3, external wastegate, lsd rear axel, and so on Have used 4 axle shaft this season, here you can see its broken And here is how i get home with broxen axels Hope you like this still if its not a diesel RE: My 83 300D - garage - 10-14-2010 Nice car i like it alot!, did you black out the rear end like that? I painted mine black like that, and i REALLY liked the way it looks, but it was crappy paint so i took it off. How long have you had the turbo on the N/A engine? The new camshaft for your IP, is that gonna be a new custom one? or out of another model?? The e230 is gorgeous! Made these today, will use them to make exhaust manifold flanges. A distribution block ready for the amplifiers i`m gonna install later. The engine cranked a little bit faster with both batteries connected. RE: My 83 300D - BRABUS - 12-22-2010 A little update! Have received 3.5" exhaust bends for the downpipe 3 sets of v-band clamp kits Exhaust flanges for the engine Exhaust bends for the new custom manifold 60mm Wastegate 55mm flexible exhaust pipe Screamer/wastegate outlet And more to come Here is a pic of the wastegate. (and the lsd Springblock for my Gasoline Turbo benz) I smashed my phone in the garage last week, and because of that i dont have more photos to share. Gonna take out the valves and the pre chamber tomorrow and start grinding the in and outlet in the head. And match grind the flange to the new size of the in and outlet´s in the head. Hva hestekrefter er det du prøver å oppnå? Hi The current engine thats in the car now with turbo is a non turbo engine Runinng 14PSI boost and not leaning out. Still rattles like it was new, i have drived 10000km with turbo. And when i mounted the turbo on this non turbo engine, the engine had 667000km on it Dont know why everybody says that turbo charging a non turbo is so bad, it have worked fine for me and my gas pedal is floored 90% of the time i drive it. The head im modifying is from a turbo engine thats under total rebuild I hope i get at least 350hp. RE: My 83 300D - mike-81-240d - 12-28-2010 WOW over 414,000 miles. Looks great. Had the head in a part washer at a friends shop today, so tommorow i can start with the inn and outlets also installed a new gauge pod with 3 gauge instead of 2, the gauges is boost,egt,oil temp(transmission) RE: My 83 300D - BRABUS - 01-03-2011 Here i have welded on "spacers" on the exhaust flange. Here i test with a intake manifold to see that it fits perfect. Here are some befor pics of two of the inlet and outlets. Started with the head today, grinded and smoothed the exhaust channels. Will polish them tomorrow, and start with the inlet channels. My header will me pretty easy made, with equal length 20-23" long runners. But it will work for my goal without a problem. RE: My 83 300D - willbhere4u - 01-04-2011 I wouldn't polish them smooth they flow better being little ruff! think like a golf ball! If it's polished smooth it hurts the flow! I get full boost at 2800 with the hx35. Hi I got full boost(10psi) at around 3000rpm in first and second gear, in third and fourth i get 14psi around 3000rpm. But its a non turbo IP, so thats why it slow spooled right now. But i still havent heard the turbo surged A friend of mine in sweden have a om617 with 8mm IP, hx35, big mofo intercooler and propane injection, he have around 30psi at 3500rpm in first gear, second third and fourth he have 40-42 psi of boost.
