C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-07-2015 Hey guys, after a long time looking for a good C250 Turbodiesel i finally found one The car was built in 1996 and is completely original. It has got 188000km and is in a good condition as far as I saw now. My plans for the car are: Get it drifting and go for some drift events! I thought i would go on like that: - evry mod (done) - delete egr (done) - boost gauge and egt gauge (ordered) - replace mufflers by pipes - Suspension, i´m thinking of the H&R cup - kit - get some nice 17" rims - get a second diff and weld it - take of all useless interior (not to much i want to drive daily also) - Maybe racing seats and steering wheel - manifold adapter + bigger turbo (goal is like 250 hp for the beginning) Yea this is what I am planning to do in the next months... i hope i can do it by myself, its the first car i'll build up It should be kind of street legal^^ If you have any ideas or suggestions i would really appreciate it. And here is a picture of the car, more will follow as soon as something happens RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-08-2015 Looks better than mine did when I got it..... I'm sure you will have plenty of fun when you get it sideways, W202's Go sideways Like nothing else!! Great Drift car! RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-09-2015 anybody got a good an cheaper proposal for the suspension than the H&R cupkit? At the moment the car drives like the titanic RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-09-2015 (07-09-2015, 01:50 AM)Repetitio anybody got a good an cheaper proposal for the suspension than the H&R cupkit? At the moment the car drives like the titanic I got some springs From ebay. There fine, not amazing but work much better than standard. There are koni shocks on ebay for not much money. Much cheaper than H&R. If all you want to do is make it stiff to go sideways theses are fine. Mine is much less boat like with new OEM Copy Shocks and ebay springs. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-09-2015 all right thanks! i´ll check this RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-10-2015 Booster die you fit a boost gauge? Vor maybe anybody else can tell me where the easyest place to fit tube Form the gauge at the turbo? Tried at wastegate but didn't work... RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-11-2015 (07-10-2015, 02:42 PM)Repetitio Booster die you fit a boost gauge? Vor maybe anybody else can tell me where the easyest place to fit tube Form the gauge at the turbo? Tried at wastegate but didn't work... Boost Gauge comes from a T next to the boost solenoid. I can get a picture for you if you need one. Not the best location but it works. (I didn't install it) RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-12-2015 Mounted it after the egr valve in the inlet manifold. It shows about 0,5 bar as max boost, is this normal stock preassure ? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - starynovy - 07-13-2015 lol.. no 0,9-1,2Bar on these engines. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-13-2015 ok thanks, looks like anything is wrong then...atm it doesn´t build up any boost preassure...dont know why, so i need to check that first before i go on with anything else. I´m meassuring the boost preassure at the inlet manifold, can this be a fault? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - starynovy - 07-17-2015 No its more or less same everywhere, slight boost drop after IC but nothing measurable with those tuning gauges. I had this problem with my W202 when I bought it, unfortunately I dont know how I solved it, but it came along again last week after a year, drives like naturaly aspirated. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-17-2015 Yea lol mine also drive normally for a Week, then the Problem was back xD need to Figur out what it is, then i will go on with engine mods. Tomorrow i will get New Rims. Oz racing f1 pictures will come. Btw i saw somebody fitting his egt gauge Into the egr hole in the exhaust manifold. Is this a good Option? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-21-2015 Hey guys, finally some updates. I just directly pluged my vakuum line, now the car builds up boost up to 1.5 bar. Here´s a picture of the boost gauge. The left switch is for evry mod The egt sensor will be fitted at the weekend (hopefully), then i´m safe with evry mod and boost and dont need to worry about too high egt´s. Today i also put my new rims on the car. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Hario' - 07-22-2015 I have a w202 estate sport and I think the suspension springs are quite stiff (ish).. But I have never been in a normal model W202 so I am unsure if aftermarket springs are any different to my sport ones.. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-23-2015 I'd say my springs made a massive difference, my only issue is the shocks are fairly worn out and need sorting now. They where cheap but known brand from eBay can't for the life of me remember! I took the Mercedes out yesterday and with my current set up egt's never get above 600. More fuel is needed!! RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-23-2015 Booster what did you do to your car fow now? Big IC, Resistor mod an h1c Turbo? Do you know about your HP? I´ll go for the TA-Technix Suspension, it´s very cheap and people say its stiff, so everything i need^^ RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-23-2015 (07-23-2015, 01:53 AM)Repetitio Booster what did you do to your car fow now? Big IC, Resistor mod an h1c Turbo? Do you know about your HP? The suspension I have is a big name brand (however crap it may seem ) Cheap as chips and does the job just fine. At the moment it's just the resistor mod and big turbo and big intercooler. Soon ill have a big pump to go with it. As for power I have no idea?? Butt dyno would say 170-180hp. In the higher gears it feels much more powerful than it should. If I didn't know better I'd say it had more mods. Goes very well for what it is. As soon as I have some cash the elements are going big!! RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-26-2015 Did some first drifts today, car already goes sideways anbd got my egt gauge mounted but the temperature soon goes higher than 650 °C :/ well so bigger turbo and intercooler is needed Car sometimes goes in EPC limp with evry mod turned on...anybody knows what this could be? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-26-2015 (07-26-2015, 10:45 AM)Repetitio Did some first drifts today, car already goes sideways anbd got my egt gauge mounted but the temperature soon goes higher than 650 °C :/ well so bigger turbo and intercooler is needed Car sometimes goes in EPC limp with evry mod turned on...anybody knows what this could be? What resitance is your resistor?? Too far and it will go into limp/run like crap?? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-27-2015 nono today morning it went into limp mode even without evry -.- only 4th gear is limited, then the car stops reving at around 3k. Never had this before, sometimes its on, sometimes its off maybe it has something to do with the directly plugged in vacuum lines? i´ve read in a german forum that is can be a turbo or a pump problem. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-27-2015 Just did a few test runs. Epc limp off, but anyway as soon as i turn evry on, the car doesnt rev up in 3rd and 4th gear. At about 3k power dropps heavy :/ boost stays up, but maybe 1.7 bar is too much for that little turbo? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 07-27-2015 (07-27-2015, 12:02 PM)Repetitio Just did a few test runs. Epc limp off, but anyway as soon as i turn evry on, the car doesnt rev up in 3rd and 4th gear. At about 3k power dropps heavy :/ boost stays up, but maybe 1.7 bar is too much for that little turbo? What resistance are you running?? Mine has no issues, went into limp once but changed the variable resistor and it's fine. Emp might be an issue... RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 07-27-2015 Variable resistor too. I tried different positions, same Problem. 1st and 2nd gear are fine. What does emp mean? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 08-12-2015 Ok Finally got the F****** problem solved, car is running in stock condition now. Also did some pics today of a few little updates... Startet with this... then this... in the inside it lookes like this...(not really finished yet) today i started with deleting the end muffler looks now like that i´m ok with it, car didn´t get too loud, i think its not a gain in power but yea... I did it Car starts slipping in second gear when the streat is dry...good thing Going to get a diff and weld it soon and also going to buy a suspension at the end of the month to get the car little stiff RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Hario' - 08-13-2015 You connected the boosts gauge to the boost solenoid - this makes no sense as the solenoid controlling boost is a vacuum solenoid? Boost is most easily measured by Tee-ing into the map sensor pipe which is fitted to the right hand side firewall/inner wing convergence area. Oh shit that is what you did do! haha sorry! I only deleted the middle enormous 'suitcase' silencer and catalytic converter / DPF filter? and performance was much improved. it must be much louder with rear silencer delete no?? Beer, H. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 08-16-2015 No the car is not to loud now, it´s still ok for daily drive. i also thought about killing the middle silencer, but i dont know if the car is tooo loud then. I think i will try it any time soon. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 08-19-2015 Ok so some news in decisions I just talked to Dieselmeken and he said that the stock 6mm elements can produce fuel for nearly 250hp. Thats enough for me at the beginning. With a welded diff the car will go sideways like nothing... The question now is wich turbo i should choose. I dont want to go for VGT turbo like barrote recommended. In fact i want to go drifting, the turbo also should spool as fast as possible right? I thought to get the same one like bruno has in his w202 with electric pump, he got awesome results with it. (think he also had stock elements at the beginning and up to 250 hp) Do you guys think thats a good idea or you may have any betters?? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 09-08-2015 Got a new turbocharger, here a little comparison of the stock and the new turbo Its a chinese A/R 0.5 universal turbo, same sizes like brunos... i hope the car will run fine with it, i just not shure how to fit it yet. It´s very tight but maybe i can make it fit in the same position liike the orginal turbo was. If not i´m going to make any adaptor. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Hario' - 09-10-2015 If you remove the airbox and replace the radiator header tank with the tank from a W210 E300TD (which fits along the edge of the wing), it will give you more clearance for the turbo. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 09-29-2015 finally an update, got the turbo and everything else fitted and did a test, firstrun was great car just started instant video will follow. Only need to solve a oil leak in the line and do an exhaust adapter to go into stock exhaust. In future i will go for a straigt pipe. Hope for nice power in the first test ride RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 09-30-2015 https://youtu.be/Sg8Gqdm0dCs hehe my girlfriend was filming and we both didn´t expect that the car would run as you can see we where both surprised and happy RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 10-17-2015 Ok i put everything together so far, egt´s are ok, but car pulls only good from 3k to 4k with about 1,8 bar, then boost goes fastly down...going to look for a chiptuner to help me out, or anybody has another idea how i can solve this with evry?! Put the original exhaust under it, just to not make it to loud while driving on offical streets Here a little pic of the engine bay. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - seanyt - 10-18-2015 Hi I'm working with a tuner at present to raise the stock fuel limit after 4700+ Not sure when I will have a solution, but I've known nobody to do it yet. Your ecu would need to be chipped to take advantage of any solution. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - bruno_pinho - 10-18-2015 Hi I did 259cv with the same set... RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 10-18-2015 Yes, i know, but how? do you habe the ECU file? Car feels Luke much morge power but only at like 3-4,5k RPM... RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 10-19-2015 It´s really hard to find someone in germany who can help me out with my problem...people laughing at me if i tell them i want to get my 96 merc remapped, they don´t even know what kind of injection it is. So if anybody got a good hint for a chiptuner who´s maybe selling a good file or a tuner in germany who could help me out i would really welcome that RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Booster - 10-19-2015 I Have been finding it hard to find a map, Now figured I will just use manual pump. I wanted a gearbox controller anyway (auto box). Just more ££££ RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 10-20-2015 I will get a mapped ecu of a guy from ireland, he´s working together with a chiptuner...can´t remember the name but i can look it up. I think he will sell it in future also to other people here in the forum. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - DANOM606 - 11-06-2015 Are we going to see it drift? RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 11-08-2015 sure i´m waiting for the remapped ecu at the moment, then i´m going to weld the diff. I already did a few drifts in stock condition, but i think they aren´t worth to see^^ RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 12-18-2015 after a long time without updates i will tell you my new plans...since there is no way to install that turbo legally to the car i build everything back to stock turbo. New plans are to get a om606 turbocharger, convert is to pressure control, feed it with some more fuel via evry and hopefully get around 200 hp. That will look oem and i wount get problems with the police in germay :/ Yesterday i took the diff out and going to weld it soon. Then the car is finally ready for some real drift and not just slipping around. If anyone has experince or knowledge about a om605 with the K14 of a om606 feel free to comment RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - MFSuper90 - 12-18-2015 Awh, sounds like the police in Germany need to pay attention to something else besides peoples vehicles! I would start a riot if they did something like that in Ohio RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 12-19-2015 it´s so stupid...would cost me 4500€ to get it leaglly :/ RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Tito - 12-19-2015 German law is an pain in the ass. We've sold a VW r32 compressor once and they even had to remove the boost pipes because they didn't have a EU approval stamp on them. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - StrikerofDeath - 12-19-2015 In Portugal have no option to legalize always illegal good luck RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - MFSuper90 - 12-19-2015 Wow that's rediculous! And I thought California was bad, but I guess not! Where I live they don't even look at whatever vehicle you are getting registered. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Tito - 12-20-2015 I'm lucky too. Over here it's easy to get a 40 year old car with high horsepower street legal. Basically I just need the number of cylinders on paper and pass a simple test. And there's no road tax for 40+ year cars! So that's why I'm building a om606 in a 114. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Repetitio - 12-21-2015 Really the netherlands have so good laws? I'm currently visiting my girlfriends Familie in the netherlands. I think i should stay there RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - CRD4x4 - 12-21-2015 (12-21-2015, 02:25 AM)Repetitio Really the netherlands have so good laws? I'm currently visiting my girlfriends Familie in the netherlands. I think i should stay thereThe state that I live in gives diesel powered vehicles an exemption from smog inspection and only a safety inspection when you initially buy it. Also, cars 20 years or older can be exempt from all inspection. So when I bought my 82 300TD all I had to do was paperwork & I had tags & I was driving. It's ridiculous really. RE: C250 Turbodiesel Drift built - Hario' - 12-21-2015 Here in the UK government has reinstated rolling forward road-tax-exemption dates for vehicles when they reach 25 years old. It used to be like that then they fixed it to pre-1972 registered cars. Now though, in 9 years my 202 will reach 'classic' status and I will not have to pay £225 per year road tax.. |
