The 240d rolled off the trailer in my back yard and the front of the car rolled down of my loading ramp and the front bumper is under water.
Going to drag it up to the house tomorrow drain the nasty wvo out of it and put some wheels on it and tow it to ocotillo wells for this weekend.

This is just to make sure the trans is good. I got it to start but the fuel in it is jelled bad.
And yay I got it to run on diesel but it has a funny sound that I'm not really concerned about.

Were you able to possibly figure out the cause of it not starting? besides wvo?

It has a tick and plans changed were not going to Te desert. It's blowing and freezing out there I'll screw around here though.

Hey Stan and Capt, how long is the rack?
Would it hang over the back of the trunk/front of the hood on a w116?
If the dude that welded it up dosnt want it i might be interested in throwing it on top of the SD.
Im not gonna rally this SD, but it will see alot of dirt roads on camping trips and such.

i'm just thinking though, it would need to be modified to mount on something with a shorter roof. the thing is made to bolt to yakima gutter bars, and the parts that are in place for that are at the very ends of a 300TD roof. a sedan roof would be a lot shorter and idk if you want to load it up like that when the mounts would have to be so far inwards from the ends of the rack.
capt - talk to taylor and see whats up. the rack is sitting in a spot in my garage that is ok for now but i would like to be able to get it moved out pretty quick here. if he can come grab it, its all his. i just want to keep my yakima bars for the 240d.

I didn't get to do anything with the 240 this weekend. I think the oil pump chain is broken and it has no oil pressure. So I get it to start and it will run till it seizes again.

So i took the SD out to a field that people dirtbike around in, and did a couple laps around a long dirt loop. As im leaving back up the small one lane road, a cop comes barreling down and puts on his sirens.
He wants to know what im doing down there and all that good stuff.
But before he leaves Mr. Officer says "Isnt this a odd car for a 20somthing year old to be driving" i say "Well its a diesel, its different yaknow?" Mr. Officer say "Ya pick up alot chics in this thing?", my repy was "Since its a diesel, the whole car vibrates..they love it!"

Im sure they were "somebodys" but i dont think they were TOO tame, there were no houses/farms for quite a long while. They are mules..i dont think they were for riding or packing...there was a large group of them out and about just chillin.
So i dont think they were "wild" or "domestic" more like feral...who knows

On this entire trip with the car loaded to the brim with gear we only used about 4gallons of diesel, the rest was ALL WVO.
About 900miles roundtrip, up to an elevation of 9,768ft, and it snowed on us 3times.
