RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 12-19-2011 well good news and bad news. as some of you know i blew up the trans no forward. but reverse is still strong!! lol ..oh well time for a 722.6 with that fancy controller ive seen on here. and for the good new. i checked my timing chain stretch. and it was a WOPPING!......~1ish deg. lol. still not running right :/ (EDIT! my battery is very weak. so theres not much juice to start/heat glow plugs) RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 12-21-2011 aaa is awesome! i have a new transmission now RE: the $700 wonder! - DeliveryValve - 12-21-2011 722.6? .[/align] RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 12-21-2011 naw just a stock 722.3 but 722.3 > no trans lol. RE: the $700 wonder! - DeliveryValve - 12-21-2011 (12-21-2011, 02:58 PM)iheartboost naw just a stock 722.3 but 722.3 > no trans lol. Did you check to see if the B2 piston didn't get jacked up? This will save you from replacing the whole trans. RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 12-21-2011 i havent checked. but pulling the trans is not that bad. coming from fwd this rwd trans will be cake. not to mention the price of a new b2 piston is probably equal to what i paid for the trans RE: the $700 wonder! - DeliveryValve - 12-21-2011 My two cents... Changing out the B2 is an easier route to go - Unless the cylinder is totally trashed. A used updated B2 piston at a wrecking yard is significantly cheaper then a new one. What I've done several times with other cars now. . RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 12-21-2011 Mkay. I mean I know what your saying I already bought the trans though. Maybe after I swap em ill fix the b2 just for the learning experience. Thanks for the advice man. RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 01-08-2012 heres a bunch of pictures of my injectors / heat sheilds do they look ok? i need to get them pop tested still. gotta find a place that will do it for free. RE: the $700 wonder! - bmwpowere36m3 - 01-09-2012 One heatshield looks upside down, but you'll need new ones anyway. Otherwise get the injectors pop-tested and inspected. Most likely at 150k+ miles you'll need new injectors... RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 01-10-2012 Yea they dont look too bad so maybe they will turn out to be the issue RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 01-15-2012 look at my head! RE: the $700 wonder! - Captain America - 01-18-2012 Looks clean in there. Thats a good sign RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 01-18-2012 yea hopefully lol. RE: the $700 wonder! - sassparilla_kid - 04-04-2012 That looks, eerily clean haha RE: the $700 wonder! - Simpler=Better - 04-05-2012 Greazzer does injectors on the cheap, and he does a solid job of it: http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/Thread-INJECTOR-SERVICE RE: the $700 wonder! - iheartboost - 04-05-2012 yea i just bought winmutts old injectors. ill update this thread soon hopefully. i think im getting a compression test done soon...ish... then i can go from there. |
