RE: Norwegian OM606 build - George3soccer - 04-09-2012 I love it. So you are running 1.9 bar for turbo, what is the supercharger running on. RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 04-09-2012 (04-09-2012, 10:01 AM)George3soccer I love it. Supercharger gives 0.5 bar, and then the turbo takes over RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmeken - 04-09-2012 This is really nice, Thanks alot for the videocliip, i`ll take it to my dieselmeken facebooksite if its OK with you. It seems to have a litttle bit of overfuelling, but as you wrote, its easy to fix now that you have a gearbox that is OK. Also, the fact that you dont have any ALDA on the pump, It can bee seen in the cloud of smoke before boost is rised. Nice job with engine / gearbox. Come back when you got max out of the pump and it not is enough and you need moore, then I fix it. RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 04-09-2012 (04-09-2012, 11:21 AM)dieselmeken This is really nice, Thanks alot for the videocliip, i`ll take it to my dieselmeken facebooksite if its OK with you. Put it on your facebook site Yes, the swedish gearbox and universal sinterplate works very good I will come back with more videos after i`ve turned up the boost, and adjusted the injectiontime on the pump...Can hardly hear any dieselknocking I will also dyno test it with this series 1 elements Must say the service from you gøran is extraordinary! VERY PLEASED RE: Norwegian OM606 build - w210tdt - 04-10-2012 edh, what timing do you use on the pump now? Your Mercedes is hot in Sweden. I stop reving at 6000, bacause i`m afraid the stock valve springs wont hold the valves past that point I don`t know how much power, but after i adjusted the Injectiontime yesterday the engine runs even better! Infact so good, that the driveshaft snapd after one pull in 3rd...So now i am searching for some better and beefier axels RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmeken - 04-16-2012 Blame me for it! You are turned this W201 into a small evil fighter. RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 04-18-2012 Here is the tranny build pictures The bellhousing is from a old 5 speed mb tranny, and the gearbox is a GS5-39DZ from a BMW E39 530d. This can handle up to 1000nm We started like this: The bmw inputshaft fits inside the stock mb bearing (35mm*15mm*10mm) Spotwelded one side and adjusted the tranny so it aligned up with the engine We was almost empty of gas that night, so the welding wasn`t perferct...But it holds The universal sinter plate with the big BMW center welded to it Made a hardyplate adapter, so that i can use the stock mb hardyplate until i`ve got myself an BMW 110mm beefy hardyplate The gearstick holder was shortened... Here is my custom 5kg flywheel and my home made aligment tool RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmeken - 04-18-2012 Thats the way, if you want it to hold, BMW is da shit! Nice work, next, come up whit the drivshafts that broke. RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 04-25-2012 Now is the rear end modified and stronger Let the pictures tell the story! w124 (185mm diff) vs w129(210mm diff) flanges 125mm flange vs 102mm flange Custom driveshaft-flange with a 125mm flange A custom w124 differential Now over to the driveshafts.... To pieces welded togheter, then i make shure that they are strait before i weld them all the way Welded axels Then i macined the weld down to the same diameter as the axel. Then i press a pipe/bushing over the joint and weld that one as well. Now the joint it self are stronger than the axel. Here is to finished axels, and you see the pipe i welded over the joint. Finished axels 25mm with 102mm cv-joint vs 32mm axels with 125 cv-joint RE: Norwegian OM606 build - willbhere4u - 04-25-2012 very nice! I'm impressed I may need to do that to a BMW project in the near future RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 04-30-2012 The sound says it all... RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-02-2012 Houston, we have a problem... Double hardy plate work very good, but not for long RE: Norwegian OM606 build - aaa - 05-02-2012 That poor innocent sixspeed shift linkage was nailed... The 190rev guys are fabbing a 90mm aluminum/delrin flexdisc, should be out in a month or two: Wait, they exist already: RE: Norwegian OM606 build - jeemu - 05-03-2012 Are you sure at all fittings are straight? If u are then use original Flexdisc that used rear and tight that so your know at you are tighten it RE: Norwegian OM606 build - denkoleso - 05-03-2012 See on foto bolts is 8.8 class of strenght, original is 10.9.Double "elastic" togetheris impermissible design, bolts is too long. This is you problem. And sorry, but you coupling is incorect. Why you not weld part of bmw propeller shaft to mb shaft? You must be very serrious with this things-this is you life. But you is our brother in mercedes! I agree with you, and this was just for the fun of it Had to old flexdisc, and wanted to try...But now we know what not to do...I have a plan for the propshaft that I am trying this weekend RE: Norwegian OM606 build - willbhere4u - 05-04-2012 Take pics! please RE: Norwegian OM606 build - mercemann - 05-05-2012 I use automatic gearbox. The original parts seem to hold. Now i just waiting for my 8mm Herelevi-pump to arive.... RE: Norwegian OM606 build - erling66 - 05-05-2012 Hi I used a flexdisc form a W210 E300 automatic. Larger dia and looks very strong.(Haven't tried it yet) If you would like to have some idea about your HP and torque; I have a Gtech Pro Fanatic I can come to you and we can test it together RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-05-2012 (05-05-2012, 08:55 AM)erling66 Hi I found a w211 diesel propshaft at my friends place today, this has an 110mm Flexdisc...So i will build that today We are planning a trip to skien or to notodden very soon, so can call you then But for now lets say 177hp+ (05-05-2012, 08:46 AM)mercemann I use automatic gearbox. The original parts seem to hold. Now i just waiting for my 8mm Herelevi-pump to arive.... It is more linear power out of an automatic than an manual It broke when i tried to clutch it out on 4th It worked a couple of times, but it had to clipp the bolts... RE: Norwegian OM606 build - jeemu - 05-05-2012 Say again. Use Original rear flex disk and tighten bolt so hard you can. I t is much sronger than front disk and will hold up power. Of cource all can be proken, if stupid RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-06-2012 (05-05-2012, 12:20 PM)jeemu Say again. Use Original rear flex disk and tighten bolt so hard you can. I will uppgrade the rear flexdisc from 90mm to 110mm today, and also the axle from the diesel w211 has a bigger splines and bigger joint on the middle, so i hope it will hold now...And i found some 12.9 bolts, so i can tighten them even more RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmerc - 05-07-2012 (04-30-2012, 06:31 PM)EDH_Performance The sound says it all... it was wet in this clip right? have you tried to increase the boost? i think it should spin its tires more easily, RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-07-2012 (05-07-2012, 09:14 AM)dieselmerc(04-30-2012, 06:31 PM)EDH_Performance The sound says it all... In this clip the butterflyvalve didn`t open, so it goes better now It slips with 225 tyres, with 2 people in the backseat in 3rd gear on dry tarmac! Only 2 bars pressure.... As soon as the 90mm flexdisc is uppgraded i will turn up boost RE: Norwegian OM606 build - mantahead - 05-07-2012 this should be good with more boost. can't wait to see this: RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-08-2012 Here is a few of all the broken parts...The first thing was the stock clutch, then the gearbox and then the driveshafts... RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-14-2012 Have now modified the diff tripodflange from 90mm to 110mm w211 style. I now have an w211 propshaft that has bigger joint+bigger splines on the middle. Now I have strong 110mm flexidiscs Bought a new gearshift holder and modified that...Have also moved the gearbox closer to the floor for better propshaft angle... Made a exhaust pipe for the rear wastegate, the other one will be done soon... Here is what my enginebay looks like these days The engine mounts don`t like when I start burning in 2nd and 3r gear with sinter clutch RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmeken - 05-16-2012 Love it. So a common month for you is 29 days in the garage and 2 days on the road? RE: Norwegian OM606 build - winmutt - 05-16-2012 Honestly your problems have me rethinking 7.5mm upgrades RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 05-17-2012 (05-16-2012, 08:59 PM)winmutt Honestly your problems have me rethinking 7.5mm upgradesIts the best thing that I have done to the car! After seeing all of those broken parts, I am just curious if you have put the car on a dyno to see how much hp and torque this car has? After seeing all of those broken parts, I am just curious if you have put the car on a dyno to see how much hp and torque this car has? No I haven`t...But i will in a couple of months RE: Norwegian OM606 build - Captain America - 05-19-2012 Fuckin Awesome! RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 06-10-2012 After a little breakdown, with the chain snapped and ruined my valves and camshafts I have now started on the rebuild! The motor is on my stand in the garage and I am uppgrading some vital parts this time to ensure a good and longlasting engine The wedge on the chainsprocket on the crankshaft has got an "Jeemu style" uppgrade Here is the stock 606 sprocket with the original wedge. I have drilled a 5mm hole trough the spcrocket and hammerd a 5mm rodwedge in there (dont know the exact english word for it) This upgrade is because the pump and camshafts are now heavier to drive, plus as jeemu says...We now have som trottle respons and th rpm drops and raises a BIT faster than a stock engine And the old supercharger has got an uppgrade with some new bearings and some porting Cleaned the screws the couppling was still in good condition stock outlet desired outlet Ported outlet I am also thinking of mounting a smaller pulley on it...The ratio now is 1:2 and the old was 1:3! 1:3 is a bit to much, as the pulley is so small that the belt is just slipping. So 1:2,5 is much better RE: Norwegian OM606 build - dieselmeken - 06-10-2012 What caused the breakdown? Valvesprings? High rew? Do you have ant harder springs now? How did the pistons look, Have the 606 burned the fuel as expected or do you need moore? Anyway, thanks for sharing, now it seems to bee bulletproof. (again!) RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 06-10-2012 (06-10-2012, 08:06 AM)dieselmeken What caused the breakdown? Valvesprings? High rew? Do you have ant harder springs now? How did the pistons look, Have the 606 burned the fuel as expected or do you need moore? I have talked and discussed with many buddies, and it looks like the chain split in half at 6000rpm, and then the camshaft was still spinning and thats why all 24 valves are bent and both camshafts are destroyd. The piston said "careface" to the incident, so they are as good as they always have been I am uppgrading springs now! My contact in Norway is on the case My engine swallows the diesel and burns it perfect I will test some other things to get more power out of the same amount of fuel, but I think I need more We all hope that you dont give up about better elements RE: Norwegian OM606 build - EDH_Performance - 06-18-2012 Original (rh) vs race spring (lh) All 24 springs and custom bottom shims Mounted springs 8000rpm valvesprings Crimp paint on vital parts Since the stock valvesprings is just 15kg springrate, and the new one is 36kg! The camgear must be secured better... Drilled and installed a M6 bolt "Jeemu style" Final assembly This is why my engine failed.... RE: Norwegian OM606 build - larsalan - 06-18-2012 Literally the weakest link of your motor. RE: Norwegian OM606 build - Ducos - 06-18-2012 Greetings from ålesund!
