RE: Superpump builder in USA - 97e300 - 11-05-2013 I will if someone donates a pump to me RE: Superpump builder in USA - mikes02ls1 - 11-12-2013 I have my pump sitting waiting to see if there is good responses. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 11-13-2013 ^Me too. RE: Superpump builder in USA - sassparilla_kid - 11-15-2013 No m-pump, no money RE: Superpump builder in USA - Onedakine - 11-21-2013 Wow, I'm amazed there's really no established "go to" pump builders in the US... Yet. P7100 builders can't punch these out? I'm very familiar with the internals of Bosch ve (rotary) pumps... Have build a 500hp ve... Hard to do and make reliable, But can be done. Anyways, I'm just shocked that in 2013 we don't even have pump builders here... Not even in WI? Something don't seam right to me... What's the hurtle? With the rotary pumps they don't like to spin fast... Rotor seizure kills 'em. So do I have this right? Internals and DV's can be sourced... You guys/we (I'm new) really just need some good pump builders to install, bench test, tweak, etc. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Simpler=Better - 11-22-2013 (11-21-2013, 10:34 PM)Onedakine Wow, I'm amazed there's really no established "go to" pump builders in the US... Yet.It's a money issue. If I had $1200 saved up for a pump you can bet I would have ordered one by now. M pumps aren't terribly hard to find, junkyards, old cars, on the forums, etc. RE: Superpump builder in USA - SurfRodder - 11-24-2013 (10-24-2013, 10:15 AM)dieselmeken If not, I take a vacation week in CA, liked it there this summer and are willing to go back as a business journey. You will probably like it even more during our "winter"... It's the "rainy" season and should be much greener, especially near the coast. That and the extremely mild temps...generally 70F (or better) and sunny during the day...can get a little chilly at night (maybe high 30's, but I've seen it get into the mid 20's a couple of times) in January-February, but nothing close to what you're used to. And, if you make it down to San Diego, I'll buy you a meal and some beer for being such an asset to the M-B tuner community. If you have a wife or significant other, I can likely talk my wife into going as well so they dont have to suffer technical car talk... RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 12-14-2013 Any updates on the pump? RE: Superpump builder in USA - MFSuper90 - 12-14-2013 (12-14-2013, 04:06 AM)vica153 Any updates on the pump? What pump? No one will be the guinea pig, as far as I know RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 12-14-2013 I was under the impression they had one. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Joaquin Suave - 12-14-2013 Someone was a "guinea", not sure who... But I saw the pump in the test stand. RE: Superpump builder in USA - SurfRodder - 12-15-2013 I look forward to sending them my 603 spare pump when I get the funds... They did a really good job installing tomnik's "Holly" elements in my 617 pump RE: Superpump builder in USA - winmutt - 12-17-2013 I have spare 603 pumps I will loan for a deposit and cost of shipping. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 12-18-2013 (12-14-2013, 11:05 PM)Joaquin Suave Someone was a "guinea", not sure who... But I saw the pump in the test stand. Well what are you doing!? Get back there and see how it went? RE: Superpump builder in USA - addicted56 - 01-11-2014 Of course nothing ever happens over the holidays but any update on this? Just purchased an M-pump and while I'm probably not going to do anything with it for a year or so still wondering what the progress was on this. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 01-12-2014 I'd like to hear some good news before I convince myself that I can make due with a stock 603 pump. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 01-22-2014 I've contacted Diesel Injection Systems and they said that they finished the first 8mm injection pump. It went together well and tested great. They are now waiting on a shipment of parts from Dieselmeken. I will hopefully be sending my pump down next week. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Insane190d - 01-23-2014 Why have an un experienced m pump builder build a pump for 1200 $, when dieselmeken with years of experience can build for the same price? Shipping cant be that much 300 $ at most. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Gearbound - 01-23-2014 how much is shipping?^^ RE: Superpump builder in USA - Insane190d - 01-23-2014 (01-23-2014, 05:33 PM)Gearbound how much is shipping?^^ Not sure I'm gonna check with ups tomorrow but a pump ready to ship is about 22lbs (10kg) RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 01-23-2014 While 'Diesel Injection systems' may not have experience with the OM603 pumps, they do have many years of experience with many brands of injection pumps (including other model bosch pumps). The OM603 pump is going to be familiar to any experienced diesel mechanic. There are no extraordinary rocket surgery aspects to it. It would be nice to go thru Dieselmeken, but if Diesel Injection Systems are using his parts then the end product is going to be the same. Shipping to/from Sweden is going to be expensive and the hassle that can come with international shipping is something both customers and vendors don't want to deal with. This is something Dieselmeken noticed and he reached out to Diesel Injection Systems to get pumps built in the USA. RE: Superpump builder in USA - winmutt - 01-24-2014 Meken set up this relationship, if its got his blessing I would certainly give it credit. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Gearbound - 01-24-2014 I'm game to try it out then (01-24-2014, 07:25 AM)winmutt Meken set up this relationship, if its got his blessing I would certainly give it credit. RE: Superpump builder in USA - raysorenson - 01-26-2014 (01-23-2014, 05:16 PM)Insane190d Why have an un experienced m pump builder build a pump for 1200 $, when dieselmeken with years of experience can build for the same price? Shipping cant be that much 300 $ at most. Because Meken vouched for them. Assuming that's not good enough for me, I would voice my concerns to Deiselmeken himself before discussing it on an open internet forum. RE: Superpump builder in USA - Joaquin Suave - 01-27-2014 I stopped by Diesel Injection Systems today to get an update... The first pump has been delivered. however it is part of a remotoring project and the owner has not gotten his rig on the road yet. Larry laughed " We set the pump on the more mild side of meken's spec. AND DAMN it can put out a lot of fuel!" he also shared that he has just received several more pumps worth of parts and there are 2 or 3 customers in line for pump work. Quote:Why have an un experienced m pump builder build a pump for 1200 $ Do you understand that DIS in a Bosch factory authorized pump repair/ rebuild center??? An M pump is WAAAAAY down on the "food chain" compared to the Bosch pumps for the $1M+ AG tractors! RE: Superpump builder in USA - Insane190d - 01-27-2014 (01-27-2014, 05:21 PM)Joaquin Suave I stopped by Diesel Injection Systems today to get an update...under stood. So whats the pump going for? RE: Superpump builder in USA - TurboTim - 02-25-2014 Anyone sent a pump over yet? RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 04-09-2014 I just shipped them my pump today. I'll try to keep everyone updated. RE: Superpump builder in USA - TurboTim - 04-09-2014 Sweet! Cant wait to hear! RE: Superpump builder in USA - Gearbound - 04-10-2014 ditto on the results RE: Superpump builder in USA - jenyus - 04-10-2014 Subscribed! RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 07-26-2014 I got my injection pump back from them today. I should have it on and most of the engine back together this weekend, but it will be a few more weeks at least before I have it in and running. RE: Superpump builder in USA - masterstill - 07-26-2014 What other mods will need to be done after installing the pump? RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 07-26-2014 (07-26-2014, 09:56 AM)masterstill What other mods will need to be done after installing the pump? I'm putting the 603 pump on a 606 and then into a FJ60. I already sorted out the flywheel>clutch>bellhousing>trans parts, so just the simple things left: engine mounts, exhaust, intake/charge piping, dry sump reservoir. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 07-28-2014 Here is a shot of my pump after getting it back from DieselInjectionSystems. Newest version of DieselMeken 8mm elements and also his handy external fuel limit adjuster. Also a photo of the pump bolted up to my OM606. RE: Superpump builder in USA - winmutt - 07-28-2014 I am jealous of the external adjustment. Is that a normal ALDA pump? I thought meken couldnt do the external adjustment on ALDA pumps. RE: Superpump builder in USA - 4x4Cal - 07-30-2014 (07-28-2014, 01:31 AM)vica153 Here is a shot of my pump after getting it back from DieselInjectionSystems. Newest version of DieselMeken 8mm elements and also his handy external fuel limit adjuster. Also a photo of the pump bolted up to my OM606. Hi vica153, Would you please share some info with us? Cost? Is your pump an used unit cause it looks new to me? Any special tunings requested when you have the pump upgrade with the 8mm elements? flow rate? Thanks, RE: Superpump builder in USA - yatzee - 07-30-2014 diesel porn! what turbo are you planning to run? RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 07-30-2014 (07-30-2014, 02:43 PM)yatzee diesel porn! It is a used pump. Supposedly off of an early 90s 350SDL. It wasn't filthy when I sent it to them, but they did a good job cleaning it up. I'm not trying to billow black smoke everywhere, so I didn't have them max out the pump. It is at around 150cc without increasing the rack travel passed the factory limit. I'm running garrett GTA2056V turbo. RE: Superpump builder in USA - 4x4Cal - 07-31-2014 I got a phone call back from DieselInjectionSystems. I like what I heard and their shop has done 4 STD IP with the upgrade elements so far! RE: Superpump builder in USA - masterstill - 08-04-2014 Nobody has said yet are there any other mods that need to be done after the pump is rebuilt????? RE: Superpump builder in USA - Simpler=Better - 08-04-2014 (08-04-2014, 08:59 AM)masterstill Nobody has said yet are there any other mods that need to be done after the pump is rebuilt????? At the least a pyrometer. You will need more airflow-better manifolds, bigger turbo, etc. to eat up the extra fuel. Some people exlarge the prechambers to get more combustion space. RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 08-04-2014 "needs to be done" lol. The fuel levels at factory boost levels are still pretty much the same, so they're is no reason you couldn't just bolt it back on whatever it came off of....if you just want to be able to say you have DieselMeken elements... If you want to use the increased fuel available from the pump, then you need to increase the density of the air going into the engine. There are many ways to do this. No one has mentioned them because they are common knowledge and not what this thread is about....not to mention no one here seems to have one in and running yet. RE: Superpump builder in USA - masterstill - 08-05-2014 (08-04-2014, 09:37 PM)vica153 "needs to be done" lol. Never ceases to amaze me on forums how people love to be jackasses. It was a simple question looking for a simple answer. How about this you will definitely have to increase air volume into the engine. SIMPLE RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 08-06-2014 I'm sorry, but when you add 4 extra question marks to the end of your question I interpret that as impatience. Like an implied "everyone answer my question now!', which elicited a bit of snarkyness on my part. The question of required mods is relevant since there could be changes that needed to be addressed for the pump to function properly. Other than the possible lack of the OEM lift pump there are no such changes. However, if you were actually inquiring about the modifications needed to combust the increased fuel levels then I reiterate: That is a stupid question. RE: Superpump builder in USA - yatzee - 10-17-2014 is it up and running, Vica153? RE: Superpump builder in USA - vica153 - 10-25-2014 Nope. I've been busy with other stuff and haven't even touched the engine in 2 months. Hopefully I will make some progress this weekend. |
