RE: Getting me a cornbinder - willbhere4u - 01-22-2014 also 4bt they can make 300hp and weight less than a 6bt RE: Getting me a cornbinder - MFSuper90 - 01-22-2014 I seriously doubt you'd get 4-6mpg. And 300hp with a 4bt needs a good amount of mods. Twins for good drivability, big single for a smoky pig. RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 01-23-2014 Yeah I'm just gonna keep my eyes open for a 6bt methinks RE: Getting me a cornbinder - willbhere4u - 01-23-2014 i would go Detroit 6v53 for the noise RE: Getting me a cornbinder - MFSuper90 - 01-26-2014 Biggest problem with the Detroit Is getting decent gearing behind them so you can run highway speeds at a decent rpm so they don't suck fuel like it's their job RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 02-26-2014 So I starting pulling the engine apart the other day so I could change the head gaskets and get the heads checked out, probably would have only taken another 20 minutes or so to get the heads off because that's all that's left but it was dark and cold and I wanted another beer lol. http://instagram.com/p/kyF2jCRMjB/ Hopefully that link works, for whatever reason my phone always decides to freeze up when I try to upload pics RE: Getting me a cornbinder - Simpler=Better - 02-26-2014 mmmmmmm pushrods RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 02-26-2014 (02-26-2014, 10:42 PM)Simpler=Better mmmmmmm pushrods They make things easier, no messing with timing chains and overhead cams RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 03-03-2014 Heads are off and at the machine shop getting checked out! RE: Getting me a cornbinder - MFSuper90 - 03-04-2014 (02-26-2014, 11:23 PM)sassparilla_kid(02-26-2014, 10:42 PM)Simpler=Better mmmmmmm pushrods Just less efficient, but I do agree that if rather work on a pushrod engine RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 05-16-2014 Still haven't put this thing back together, hopefully this weekend I can get the engine buttoned up since the rebuilt heads are on as well as the rocker assemblies, so all I really need to do is put the intake and exhaust back on RE: Getting me a cornbinder - sassparilla_kid - 05-29-2014 Look what Santy Claus in the brown truck brought me yesterday http://instagram.com/p/okDRjQxMn_/ |
