It is stock on the Ford Diesel. The one on my truck is currently supporting over 300HP and 65 PSI. There is no overflow or adjustable pressure. It's a simple gear type pump. I plan on adjusting pressure at the outlet on the injection pump. I finally fixed all of the fuel leaks and adjusted the timing by ear as best I could. There is a fairly loud clack from cyl. number 3 that goes away when the engine is warm. Much of the noise and roughness, I attribute to the pump needing adjustment. So, for now, I need to concentrate on the induction/exhaust system. It still runs a little rough at idle but I can fix that by running the air conditioner! Here's a few pictures: The oil spots in the intake are from the air conditioning fill valve. You might want to look at the hole in the filter housing, right after the pre-filter, the one where the clear pipe going to the SOV is fitted, its teeny teeny, 6mm maybe? I enlarged mine a little while ago, its better for the veg to have bigger bores. Well done What paint did you use for the rock cover? I had to construct a couple special tools in order to get the cam out. Once done, it was very easy to swap the elements. Randomdude, the SC and HX40 are not on there yet. I did things a little backward. I still need to fabricate the exhaust manifold to I can mount the turbo. I would not say it is DIY, maybe possible on electronic governor pumps but balancing the quantities and more important adjusting a mechanical governor, no way. I was hoping I could do it me, meself and I once I got enough to get the plungers from you Olivier RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - tomnik - 06-23-2011 Hi Oliver, from my experience the step of installing the 7.5 is nearly the same compared to then getting the pump/governor adjusted properly by a specialist. Again, it is a bit better with electronic governor but also here the individual quantity has to be correct. I tried many "just swap the elements" even on a bench but the satisfying result only came when an expert adjusted the governor. I set the quanties up on the engine at idle. I currently running 368hp and 426 ft lb torque on dyno dynamics rolling road only reving to 5500rpm with standard exhaust manifold modified to hold hx35. Not bad for mixed driving. The second tank should be even better. I have about 600 miles on the new elements at this time. I can't wait to see how I could do with either a manual transmission or a GM automatic with a better OD ratio and 100% torque converter clutch lockup. JHunt is graciously helping me and allowing me to use his facilities to get this thing done. This is a huge deal for me because I was seriously wondering how I would manage some areas of the project. I am very excited and grateful! We worked on the exhaust flanges today, cleaning them up on the vertical mill. I've also been making small adjustments to the pump and to the sensors and it's running VERY well! Here's what I'm running right now: Stock turbo and ECU controls. Calibrated leak on the MAP sensor. (delays initial fueling, reduces smoke) EGR defeated MAF defeated Just turned 3000 miles and no codes. Runs fantastically! More to come soon! I'm wrapped up currently taking care of my father so the car work has come to a 99.9% standstill. I did however, buy an electric fuel pump (powerstroke diesel). Did I read right, no software changes from the ecu? sounds really interesting, a friend also owns a 300TD ('97 I think) and also plans little modifications. RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - Hario' - 09-26-2013 A calibrated MAP sensor leak is when you literally perforate the pipe from the manifold to the map sensor (at the map sensor end) so the map sensor picks up less pressure than is in the manifold. This lets you increase the boost pressure over stock without the ecu going into limp home mode. With bigger IP elements the ecu believes the engine is stock, as it is unaware of the extra fuel and air.. Winner! H. Ps if anyone has any 606.962 maf delete info they could share please do as this is the only thing stopping me do all of the above. Regards. RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - Graminal95 - 09-26-2013 I was able to delete my MAF by using a 22k resistor and putting it between the yellow and blue wires on the connector for the MAF. I'll double check on my way home from work in a little and snap a photo. RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - Hario' - 09-29-2013 I tried this by fitting a 22k resistor into the corresponding blue/yellow connectors in the maf plug, but then boost would rise very slowly, as if the wastegate was open. However I didn't solder the resistor to the blue and yellow wires leading to the maf while leaving the maf connector connected. Thinking about it this is what I need to do right? If that makes sense, I disconnected the maf plug and poked the resistor legs into the blue and yellow wire female contacts in the plug leaving the plug hanging.. Do you have a build thread Graminal95? I'm going to start one as there are a few elec.IP owners amongst us. H. RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - Graminal95 - 10-01-2013 It is interesting that the resister trick did not work for you and has worked great for me. To get around it we could easily have an arduino take in the tps and boost signal or rpm and tps to tell the comp how much air is going into the engine. We just need the normal airflow as measured by the engine using a OBDII scanner at idle and under full boost at high RPM. I could do this if I still have a good maf, but without it I can only do my 22k resistor mod. I do not have a build thread yet, but in another year or so when the w210 body rots away I will be tansplating the OM606 into my shinny W123. Then I will start a build thread. I'm just being cheap and did not want to buy a maf for this car that lead me to the 22k mod. RE: 1998 E300 W210 Superturbo Project - Hario' - 10-01-2013 Interesting, so you left the maf plug disconnected and the resistor poked in the plug jumping the yellow/blue wires? My 210 is my daily so I have to plan lots then get oily over the weekend and have it back on the road for the Monday it's such an ache. Did you delete the egr solenoid also? Because the maf resistor trick may work for me then. I'm in the process of cad'ing a manifold flange adapter for stock manifold to TD04 because they're both round port and 3 bolt, with csk bolts to the manifold and csk bolts protruding outwards for 'studs' for the TD04, they are dirt cheap by the way, OEM on subarus and evo's IIRC. With a crappy bleed valve leaking manifold signal to the map sensor so I can increase boost over stock.
