RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - DeliveryValve - 04-04-2011 (04-04-2011, 05:21 PM)dieselboy New pics! I haven't driven it in a week its just been sitting at work but my turbo seized in my work truck this morning so i had to drive her home and of course wash her.... Remind me to never let you drive any of my vehicles! LOL! Oh yeah.... the 116 is lookin good. . RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mike-81-240d - 04-05-2011 tasty RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 04-05-2011 I touched up the intercooler about 20 min after the pics lol. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Biohazard - 04-05-2011 Looking Good! The side pic, with the barn in the background... I thought it was a Sprint style roof spoiler when I first saw it! Had to take a second look... RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 04-16-2011 well got some stuff done today. Drilled and tapped non egr exhaust manifold for pyrometer Pyro location Drilled and tapped the front side for a exhaust back pressure gauge I then took my w115 intake manifold and proceeded to "murder" it as my friend said lol. I had to do this because the turbo clearance it insainly tight less than 1/8" lol Oh and fyi my ebp is 21psi with the boost at 20. So 1.05:1 ratio. My egts hit 1205* then once im at like 3200rpm in 4th it starts going back down lol.. Intercooler FTW. I need a trans cooler bad though. I hit like 228* hooning around lol. Oops.. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mike-81-240d - 04-17-2011 That looks quite nice. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Captain America - 04-18-2011 Looks good. Where are you pulling trans temp from? RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 04-18-2011 There is a plug on the tail housing that i drilled out and tapped to 1/8" RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - winmutt - 04-19-2011 Now when your pulling 5200rpm you can watch your trans burn up RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 04-19-2011 Lol I noticed that it would lag on the 1-2 shift when I thought it was hot. Well now I know it does. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Captain America - 04-19-2011 That's fluid temp housing temp? The transfer case would get so hot in my buddies H1 Hummer that it would boil off water that was sprayed on it... It didn't like doing 90mph! And whats your impression on the 115 intake? Better? More efficient? RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 04-19-2011 It's in the tail housing I'll look at my old one and see what the port does I put it in. Iirc it's the pressure test port for the tailshaft pump. As for the w115 intake its hard to say right now. My buttdyno says it gas a little more mid and top end compared to the modified stock one I was running. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - makin' smoke - 04-19-2011 BAD ASS! Love the intercooler setup. Where did you come up on the tubes? Did you have them bent or picked up pre-bent sections? RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-03-2011 forsale adface: RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mike-81-240d - 05-03-2011 Noooooooo! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dude99 - 05-08-2011 NOOOOOOOOOOO! Why?????? RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-08-2011 Well. Still in the air. The car I was wanting sold so I'm still tryig to figure out what to do. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - JB3 - 05-09-2011 Its too bad all that surging is forcing you to sell! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Captain America - 05-09-2011 ^^^^^^^^ Ohhhhh man! Look at this guy stirring trouble hehe RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - willbhere4u - 05-09-2011 What where ya trying to buy? RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-09-2011 2002 BMW m5. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - JB3 - 05-10-2011 (05-09-2011, 02:14 PM)Captain America ^^^^^^^^ Ohhhhh man! Im sorry, couldn't resist after reading the whole thing through. Maybe it was in poor taste, my apologies. I love this car though, dieselboy, do you have any problems with that blue gauge light blinding at night? How is the lighting on it? Some of my isspro gauges were too bright stock and I had to wire them all to a dimmer RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-10-2011 It has a dimmer when the lights are on. You can also select like 5 different colors. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - MFSuper90 - 05-10-2011 I have a three in one glowshift on my W123, except mine has the tinted backround, i love it RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-10-2011 They fit nicely in the center vents on a w123. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Captain America - 05-11-2011 Happy Birthday dude. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-14-2011 ^ thanks man. Auto x action!! Friend has a video I'll get it soon. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Captain America - 05-14-2011 That's an awesome pic! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-15-2011 RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mike-81-240d - 05-15-2011 Video needed. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-15-2011 Several coming soon. Making the 550mi drive home now. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-15-2011 I need a 2.47 diff. I've been spinning 3800rpm for the last 3 hrs lol. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Biohazard - 05-15-2011 (05-15-2011, 08:11 PM)dieselboy I need a 2.47 diff. I've been spinning 3800rpm for the last 3 hrs lol. Gah! I'd offer you a spare diff, but all I have is a 3.07 and a 3.69. Don't think either one will help ya there! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-16-2011 Well car did great. The last 2 months it has made 2 decen sized road trips. 1 was 800 miles round trip. This one ended up being 1300miles roundtrip and I participated and was competitive in a autocross. (to bad my times didn't count because mine were considered "chairity runs" But still this trip home just now (I just laid down in bed lol) 550miles home was traveled at average of 75mph with about 2 or more hours at 85. At 85 I'm right around 4000rpm. Poor car lol. I averaged ~27-28mpg. So to sum things up I've got ~ 10k on this thing since the hy35 has been put on. And it's still working great. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-16-2011 1st run on the course 1st time autocrossing the Mercedes 2nd autocross ever. 2nd run was better. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-17-2011 more pics RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - DeliveryValve - 05-17-2011 Nice pics. Video was funny with the laughing in the background. Why did you stop on the course? (05-15-2011, 08:11 PM)dieselboy I need a 2.47 diff. I've been spinning 3800rpm for the last 3 hrs lol. I got a 2nd Gen 2.47 LSD that you'll need to put the carrier in a 1st gen housing that I can sell you..... But not really cheap... .. But it would be great for autocrossing once you get more power out of the motor to over come the taller gear ratio. . RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 05-17-2011 That was my first run. I almost ran that cone over. There is a video of the second run that all of the above pics are from. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mike-81-240d - 05-18-2011 I'm auto crossing for the first time on the 28th. So pumped. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 06-06-2011 Well I tried some other rims and tires but I didn't like them. Im staying with my chrome ones. I got a 160mph dash and STD gauges. Repainted the needles and corrected the odo for my car and added a redline to the tach. I'll be redoing the tach and I don't really like the way it came out. I needed to keep the recline the same width all the way through. I tucked the rear bumper so I didn't have a park bench anymore. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 06-28-2011 Installed a 2.65:1 diff out of a 79 450sel w116 i got from the junkyard tonight.. freaking love it. car will cruise at 80mph now. All i had to do was swap out the input yoke on the diff to accept the smaller joint. My tach burnt out so im in need of one of those. with the 3.07 diff the car would top out at 124mph @ 5500 rpm now it should do around 140mph. It also is the larger diff and its now open again. Ill prob put the welded diff into the 240d I just found another video from the autocross! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Biohazard - 06-29-2011 Glad you got the diff in! That autocross video is great!! Haha! RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 06-29-2011 Put my new upper control arms in today. Drives much better. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 07-02-2011 Headed to cars and coffee irvine. 80mph is now 3100rpm with the new diff. Perfect. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - Biohazard - 07-02-2011 Nice! I swapped the 2.65 into the Pumpkin for last years trip to Bonneville, much easier on the car for the long road trip. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - mr_manny - 07-04-2011 (07-02-2011, 02:52 PM)Biohazard Nice! I swapped the 2.65 into the Pumpkin for last years trip to Bonneville, much easier on the car for the long road trip. When you say much easier...what is a good cruising RPM for these motors? Thought these engines can do 3K all day... Sweet Video RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - dieselboy - 07-04-2011 My car likes to be between 3000-3500 cruising. With te 307 diff I was spinning near 4k at 80mph I'm now 3100@ 80. I love it. RE: Jesse's hy35 powered w116 - 300D50 - 07-04-2011 2400 is stock torque peak, which is where a stock engine would like to cruise. |
