flexible intake duct for body mounted airbox - rdirtycar - 07-16-2010

I'm imagining this, in black, as a flexible coupler to connect an airbox that would be mounted behind the right headlight. It's called a hump hose and it's for a slight bend or misalignment in the ductwork. They don't say of course if you can use it to bridge the ductwork joint between the chassis and engine. All my motor mounts and engine shocks are new so the engine should be pretty stable.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for stiff, flexible union between two metal tubes?

Shhh, but I was thinking about drawing some cool air in through the cowl/firewall... Still working that out...

All you need are two points of slight flexibility or one long flexible.

Oh, I meant to add that those look good. I think they would work well.

That is exactly what hump hoses are for, to transition from the body mounted intercooler, i.e. turbo to intercooler to intake. each end of the intercooler gets a hump hose. You could use it for a coupling too, that is what I am doing. I have quite a few 3" hump hoses left over, let me know if you need one - $5.00 + shipping.

Right on, thanks all. I was thinking of using two of these but I don't believe I have the room. I am planning on mounting it so it stretches along the length of the duct instead of between points shearing in relation.

You have to be careful if its under boost pressure it will make them move around as they expand and contract! other wise they are bad ass!

That's good news because I need it to expand and contract lengthwise about two inches anyway I figure.
