Needs rebuild. sent you a pm RE: om61X 5 speed trans. - ForcedInduction - 08-09-2010 It needs hard parts, not just a rebuild. A few gears are chewed. I got an estimate of $2000 by Stu Ritter. http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/the-5speed-thread-t-151.html RE: om61X 5 speed trans. - winmutt - 08-09-2010 Last I checked everything was available from classic parts, however I was not checking specific part numbers, just a general inquiry. Knowing dropnosky, I'm betting he'll just fab his own RE: om61X 5 speed trans. - ForcedInduction - 08-09-2010 I'm not trying to piss on your sale Rolf, I just don't want somebody to get overly optimistic about finding a cheap 5-speed. I would have kept it myself if I had the resources to rebuild it economically. RE: om61X 5 speed trans. - winmutt - 08-09-2010 No your right. Either way its sold (traded). Its the only one of the three that I am reluctant to get rid of. RE: om61X 5 speed trans. - JB3 - 08-10-2010 Im gambling that I possibly have some applicable replacement hard parts out of one of the broken gearsets I have floating around here. If not, Ill widdle up a new gear out of soap stone and go really easy on it. by the way, what happened with the shifter? is that still floating around in someones collection? |
